Nordic Pocket Saw

A powerful tool for demanding adventures in the wild, the Nordic Pocket Saw is great for hiking, hunting, fishing, bushcraft, and more. The heat-treated, high-carbon steel chain is designed to stand up to harsh conditions and extreme temperatures, and features double-cutter teeth on each link for effortless cutting in both directions. Available in three colors that range from subtle to hard to miss, the heavy-duty nylon handles provide a comfortable, safe grip—even when wet. All together, the saw weighs 4.2 ounces and packs neatly into the included Cordura case, which can be stored in your backpack or worn on your belt.

To decrease friction and prevent wear, the chain should be lubricated regularly with chain lube. This should be preceded by a thorough rinse with degreaser. If needed, the cutter teeth can be sharpened with a 4-millimeter round file.

The idea for the Nordic Pocket Saw was born during a hiking trip to Brazil, where local farmers sometimes use chainsaw chains with rope handles to fell trees and cut wood—an alternative to heavy, bulky sawing tools that doesn’t compromise effectiveness or strength. In 2015, after a period of intensive development and thorough testing, the Nordic Pocket Saw was launched in Sweden. Since then, it has gained recognition among adventurers and outdoors retailers alike, and is even being assessed by the Swedish and German Armed Forces.
