When I saw the price I was quite sure it must be an error and someone accidentally added a digit.
139 sounds more like a reasonable price for this, minding the (better?) competition.
Yo Drop, what kind of ganja do you all smoke? Because you all must of been high AF if you think the price for this thing is reasonable. A "retro" digital music player is such a cheesy gimmick to try and sell, because of how niche it is. All I want to know is the name of those strains that you all be blazing on over there, cuz I want some of that, too.
While I absolutely love the retro looks...what is up with this price? As an audiophile (not the snobbish kind) I can think of DAPs that are literally 1/4th the cost and annihilate those specs. I don't even pay attention to those THAT much since it is superfluous with the returns diminishing completely after a point & even then I find this insane. The HiBy R4 is 250$ (USD) and annihilates this DAP. Single DAC, no amplifier, NO BLUETOOTH and obviously no streaming applications, lmao....what an absolute joke. This would be a good deal at 150$ MAX - Heck, I'd even shell out 250$ for this thing despite its sub-par specs because of that design alone but 1400$ MSRP? Get out.
RubyInfernoThis player has an ES9038 Pro and balanced output. It seems overpriced to me too, but why are people thinking that this should be $150-$250? If I didn't already have a Fiio Q7 I would probably consider purchasing the DPS-L2 in the $800-$900 range.
JustensenThe Fiio JM21 - better specs @ sub $200, that's why. No DAC, and certainly the inclusion of balanced output (which are pretty much ubiquitous on DAPs now) justify a $800 price tag, much less the batshit cost of this thing.
Love the Walkman look, but there are too many negatives. No Bluetooth 5.0, no internal storage, battery playing time average. And will cost $1500 after taxes and shipping. Not worth it.
WordsandMusicEh. Mobile doesn't always have to mean that it fits in your pocket. I like to take a quality DAC/amp and headphones with me to work, but don't always have access to an outlet or space for full size components.
