While not marketed as a flex pen, the Pilot Falcon is fitted with a semi-flex 14-karat gold nib that provides excellent line variation. Thanks to its softness, the nib allows you to write for long periods without experiencing the fatigue that accompanies many flexible stainless steel nibs. The Falcon is also very responsive, and the tines are quick to rebound after spreading. You’ll find the fine nib offers the most line variation, while the medium and broad options are more akin to European-ground nibs.
Note: At checkout, select your choice of body and trim combination (Black w/ Gold, Black w/ Rhodium, or Red w/ Rhodium), and nib size (Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, or Broad). This drop is limited to 173 units.
The body is made of polished black resin and adorned with your choice of gold or rhodium trim. While it’s slightly lighter than the metal Falcon, the resin model still offers a weighty and balanced hand-feel—especially with the cap posted—while remaining light enough for everyday carry. Just above the grip is a fine set of threads, which is far enough removed from the grip itself that it won’t interfere with your fingers. The pen comes equipped with a Con-50 converter, though it’s also compatible with Pilot’s proprietary cartridges.
