Porsche Design Tec Flex Gold Special Edition

Since it was released in 1963, the Porsche 911 has served as the central inspiration for the company’s design team. And why not? This classic car is all superlatives: the most meticulous construction, the highest-quality materials, the most attractive aesthetics. It’s this approach that has earned Porsche Design dozens of awards, and it’s not just the automobile basking in the glory. Sunglasses, smartphones, stereo speakers—this German powerhouse does it all, including pens, and the Tec Flex Gold Special Edition lives up to the company’s reputation.

Most notable is the pen’s woven barrel, featuring stainless steel threads plated in 24-karat gold. This exact design is used in the company’s sports cars to safeguard the brake hose; tilt it into the light and you’ll notice it also produces a holographic effect. The rest of the body is made of brass, with 24-karat-gold plating on the cap and barrel end. The latter also features raised dots to secure the cap for posting. Unscrew the threaded cap and you’ll find an 18-karat gold medium nib, which is said to be slightly firmer than a Pelikan Souverän M800 nib.
