I’m pretty happy with the quality of these cards. They are a nice tool when I’m looking for some inspiration for art or role play. My only problem is the lack of marking between deck 1 and 2, making it impossible to easily separate them once they’re shuffled together.
I would like to see the other expansions offered on Massdrop too.
These cards are really high quality. My only gripe is that each card does not have individual drawings or sketches of the idea on the card. This means that the cards look altogether pretty similar other than for the words on them. This is not enough to deter me, especially for the price, but just as a word of warning for others who might be expecting images or sketches on each card.
AGuyThatGamesHi - this is Clark Huggins, creator of the Reckless Deck series. First, thanks for all your kind words and high praise. I wanted to address the issue you raised, about there being no pictures or images of the prompt in question on the cards. This is very much on purpose. The intent is to avoid putting any preconceived idea or image in your head about how to interpret that prompt. For example, shields come in lots of shapes and sizes, and can be from a multitude of historical eras or fictional worlds. It could be a knight's shield, a Captain America-style superhero shield, a police riot gear shield, or an alien shock trooper's shield - the possibilities are endless. Immediately seeing an illustration of one particular kind or shape of shield gives you an obstacle that your imagination has to overcome, however subliminally, in order to discover a new and unexpected possibility that's totally your own. A lot of these cards are purposely left to broad interpretation - showing a graphic of come kind could really cut off those avenues of possibility. Hope this is helpful!
Great for an art block or a fun game to play when you want to branch into more creative ideas. The cards themselves are beautiful to look at and display.
I love this. I've been wanting to get back into drawing more, and this is great inspiration for days when I just can't think of anything I want to draw.
Very neat idea! Showed it off to a few tabletop friends and they like it. Haven't really put it to use yet but I like having a tool like this in my arsenal as a GM. Cards are decent paper quality and the art is really high quality. Only complaint is there's no markings to my eye that differentiate between cards from volume 1 and 2, so shuffling everything together is something I'm hesitant to do. For the price, a nice buy.
