I'm new to hand sharpening blades, and these stones make it really intuitive to feel the blade's angles and inconsistencies. Very pleased with the kit.
Decent sharpening stones, and very bulky box.
It's a good starter kit for a price of single more or less mediocre sharpening stone.
So, if you just want to get started with something - it's a good option, but not a replacement for a relatively decent stones (not sure if "professional" would be proper term here).
I'd rather make the box less bulky, using cheap plastic is OK for work tools.
Preyda should've just put bigger stones and another bottle of honing oil instead of using such bulky wooden box.
I was Unable To Properly Sharpen my Samura 86 Santoku knife (MAC for EU market) with this stones - need more finer grades, up to 10000 grit wetsnone (Yoshihiro to be exact). But I'm fine with that, because this kit works well with stamped knives. I'd rather not use it for any blacksmith related material, although you can good pretty good results with proper training.
Only 3 stars due to the poor parcel preparation for international shipment: at opening, the box was broken and some stones a bit damaged on the corners.
Otherwise nice kit that is good for my kitchen knifes but is lacking higher grit stones to complete the honing of straight razors.
Great product, well made, and works well. Do wish the base was about a 1/2-inch taller to give room to hold the knife without fingers hitting the workbench.
