My watch bought in July 2018.
It broke down two months ago.
It works for a moment and stops.
Repair at an SEIKO authorized service center in Poland valued at $ 120.
I've owned this watch since November of 2017 when I got it here from the drop and wore it for a few months as my main watch, daily. It keeps near perfect time, even after 6 or 8 months when I need to change the time for DST. What I mean by near perfect time is that it's only off by about 8-10 seconds in 6-8 months which is absolutely outstanding.
Since about March of this year, it's been my beater watch after I got a different main watch. I wear it when working in my shop or working on my car or anywhere else I don't want to mess up my main watch. It still keeps near perfect time after over a year, still holds a charge perfectly and just keeps on working. Nice, slim, easy to read, watch that just works, in my case at least.
I am wearing this watch as I write. I like the solar power feature. The hands and numerals glow well in the dark after exposure to daylight. I like the BIG numbers at 6, 9, and 12--unique, I think. The watch is small enough to fit an old man's wrist, or maybe a woman who avoids 'feminine' timepieces, without dominating . The time is visible at a quick glance. Nothing fancy here, but it does the job it's supposed to, and does it well. It's my everyday watch now.
Won't hold a charge, tried sunlight, left it under a bright light for a few days. It will run for a few hours and then stop. I bought 2 other Seiko solar watches from Massdrop and they were fine but they were the high end ones. I bought this one for my wife because of the size and the no replace battery option. I don't see anywhere to warrantee this junk with the paper work in the box. Well I've been beat for a lot more expensive things than this. I assumed Massdrop did a more thorough review of the products they sell. Will be a lot more cautious with my future purchases.
It look's good, but it doesn't keep the day and day correct. I am very upset about this because it is a Seiko watch and I have other Seikos that run with no problems at all.
I guess dealing with "Massdrop" is sort of like a "grab bag". You don't know what you'll get.
No more for me! Goodbye!
Love the design, but it does not hold a charge. I left it in direct sunlight for 6 hrs (what the owner's manual suggests) and a few hours later it stopped. Tried charging it up with a flashlight and similar result. Waste of money, I can't return it to Massdrop and don't want to sell it second-hand unless they work in the sun for 8 hours a day.
It's not bad looking, and band is comfortable.
But it won't charge even in direct sunlight, and won't run more than 2 or three hours, sometimes less.
Defective, and looking at Amazon customer reviews this is apparently pretty common.
Should have looked there before buying.
sparis145149I feel bad about this, because it's the first Seiko product I've ever bought that just didn't work. Generally I trust Seiko watches to work correctly and last a long time.
On the bright side, I took the bracelet off and transplanted it to another watch, where it looks and works fine.
