I think it's pretty cool that a favorite watch can easily enough be upgraded so, though personally I think your domed crystal takes away from the original dished look. Classes it up to much for me, ha! The only invasive mod I want at the moment is an orange seconds hand on my Citizen bm8180. I wouldn't trust myself to try it (says the guy who thinks it should be no trouble to change the battery in a $10,000 watch) and I'm not sure it's a big enough want yet to send it off and pay for the procedure.
Seeing how there is no mention of a warranty here, buy it at Creation and use code 'manontime' as has been mentioned already, and at least get a warranty, And for less. Drop or whoever is running this Drop, if you want to chime in and tell us about the warranty feel free.
"If this guy keeps telling people our prices are too high, we'll be out of business by sundown!"
"It'll never happen--Millennials like paying extra and waiting longer for their stuff--it's our business model!"
I happen to like this watch, but it's possible you may not.
It has its shortcomings; the movement doesn't wind or hack--but neither did the first generation of Seiko Monsters and that never stopped them from becoming a hit. And like those early Monsters, Seiko has sold a bazillion of these over the years and will continue to do so until they're gone. No tell'n when that will be, maybe when they've exhausted the parts they still have in stock?
One could argue something from the new, updated Seiko 5 line would be a more practical option. Technically, that might be true--but they're $350-ish and haven't yet achieved that classic-level reputation/status these have at half the price. Put another way: "they don't have a soul like a Vincent '52."
--and seen in that light, there are really only two reasons for buying this watch:
A) you like it for what it is and,
B) you aren't troubled by what it isn't.

RayF, with your blessing, I’m stealing this line for a whole host of applicable product choices my family/friends ask me advice for...

A rock solid investment (minimal) for those newer to the watch problem. In Irish brogue: 'Ah, I recall purchasing me SKX007 like it was only yesterday.'
