I find it hard to believe how comfortable this headphone is to wear over very long periods of time. It not only feels light, but very breathy and ears do not overheat even on a warm day.
The sound quality is really magnificent and very pleasant for most types of music.
Out of the box, these are incredibly comfortable and impressively light while maintaining a premium feel. These look incredible! They are almost entirely matte black plastic but feel very high quality in hand. I can wear these all day working and gaming without fatigue once I got used to the clamping force after wearing them for the first few days. They breathe so so well!
I've also swapped the stock pads for Dekoni fenestrated sheepskin earpads which make the headphones even MORE comfortable without noticeably distorting the sound (might add a little more bass, in my opinion, but doesn't muddy up the sound and was an improvement for me based on how I'd like them to sound).
I can't recommend these enough, especially if they're in your price range!
Having a set of HD6XX, these don't really offer too many surprises. I do like the more premium feel and look of the HD660s.
Sound wise, they are brighter than the more laid back HD6XXs but these do add more energy to the music that I listen mainly to - classical and jazz. As for bass, sure not big and boomy but its definitely there. I can compensate for more bass with EQ if needed.
Chuey1011Bass slightly lacking but very detailed and tight compared to the 6xx.
However using a compatible amp such as the Class A Rebel amp greatly increases the bass and overall richness of the 660S. Amazing pairing.
Update..
Using this via balanced output with the singxer SA1 is in a whole new catagory. Now my top standard combo. Sonically amazing.
In terms of sound, the HD660s offers me the same sound signature that I've missed from my sold HD600 but with a little more bass. The imaging is also excellent.
As for comfort, these headphone are incredibly light BUT the clamping force is immense if you have a big head. But after using a yoga block to stretch them for a couple of nights, they are much more comfortable.
Some say that amongst the HD600, the HD650 and the 660s, the differences are mostly of their tonality.
Totally agree. As a person who’s tried all three of them, I find the 660s more enjoyable to me. It’s got slightly more bass than the 600 and the 650, with a dimmer treble response also.
I still strongly recommend that you go try them in person before you buy these headphones. They’re all nice headphones, and with similar prices (at the time I purchased the 660s it was like $400), you gotta let your ears tell you the story.
Spectacular for the price and paires perfectly with ES100
These are a nice upgrade to the previous lined of Sennheisers, superb detail and clarity. Works as a perfect match with ES100. Listening to various genres works great with rock and pop and jazz. Very comfortable as well.

Need to be in your arsenal.
These are my first pair of headphones getting into the Audiophile hobby. It's been a year now that I have had them. Where do I start.
First all. These are definitely my go to reference headphones. Very neutral sound. Clean bass. Clarity towards the top but not too bright. Mids are not pushed forward.
I have gotten a pair of Beyerdynamics and a pair of Hifiman Planars in my headphone rotation. The Sennheiser HD660S always seem to surprise me even after a year. I got into tube amps as well and been a blissful journey so far.
In summary, I would definitely recommend these if you are looking for quality sound. The only con is the bass can have a little bit more punch but a little EQ can fix that.
