IMO, this represents a decent savings, though not a screaming good deal. Right now, basically everyone except Massdrop is selling them for $400. The last time they were in the $310 neighborhood was holiday last year. Inflation happens, people. Prices rise over time due to inflation unless there's a force (such as becoming out-preformed) dropping the price. It's not like most consumer electronics where manufacturing efficiencies improve faster than inflation rises. These are a magnet, a coil of wire, and some plastic. There's nothing there to make more efficient that hasn't already been done sometime in the last 10 years.

So Massdrop is getting you these at last year's holiday blowout prices but at the end of the summer. Just be happy you aren't paying $400!
