I own a pair of these. They are very v-shaped with detailed highs, but are on the bright side. Beware if you are treble sensitive. The mids were a deal beaker for me. They are recessed and sound hollowed out in some tracks. The bass is very pronound, but doesn't sound muddy.
For comparison I prefer the KZ ZS10 PRO for the mids and bass, but the Tape destroys them in detail and the highs. The highs are the weak point of the Pro's in my opinion.
Well, that is interesting. The version I received direct from Linsoul came with a balanced cable, and adapter to TRS.
Cable on the left is the one that shipped with it. Is a 4 wire balanced. Cable on right is a Tripowin C8.

Closeup of the cable that mine shipped with. Didn't buy on Drop, bought from Linsoul via Amazon last month.

I <3 these IEM. They're now my current favorites, narrowly beating the BQEYZ Spring1 and Kinera Idun.
FayneAh! I got the same accessory too.
I don't get why people hate this IEM.
I loved them compared to my current IEM.
The bass is insane! Very fast, detailed and accurate. The sub-bass produce excellent rumble too.
Overall, Low-end is so clean and doesn't muffle.
These are fantastic. Breaking them in now, but they are technically superior for the price. Foam tips are a MUST. Once you have them in, very, very resolving sound. Mids are intimate and inviting, the highs are crystal clear without sibilance and, the biggest surprise for me, the bass is impactful and tight. I wasn't expecting the bass at all, but it's got thump without being muddy or overwhelming. BUT, keep in mind these are going through some QC issues currently, with drivers blowing out after a few days to weeks usage (the left one in particular). I'm only a few hours in, so fingers crossed. The cable I got had issues with the left MMCX connector right out of the box, so I will be asking for a replacement from Linsoul. I'm currently just using a spare Tripowin C8. Loving these!
mensreaI am currently reading your review whilst listening to Jazz via the Tape iem’s.
My set up is the Hiby R6 Pro via the Little bear B4-X (Tube portable amp) and the sound experience is awesome.
Yes the Shuoer Tape is exceptional low voltage electrostatic headphone. I really do enjoy them via my current set up.
BUY THESE FROM AMAZON FOR SAME PRICE WITH NO MONTH WAIT. Ya know, seeing this for the 2nd time on IEMs (DROP wait with about a 5% discount) makes me want to stop supporting this website completely. I'll be back when you decide to stop taking advantage a decent community yall worked hard to build. Stop this bullshit and allow us to take advantage of legitimate savings. Will check back in a few months to see if you've changed.
You commented a month later. Price would have been adjusted, therefor not applicable to original statement. Also, not worth mentioning if your "coupon" is private/personal use.
McJerkinsIt's clear that Drop has no idea on timing for anything they sell. 'Give us your money today and you'll get what you ordered at some indeterminate point in the future'. It's a fun site, but not sure I'd order anything here again.
I own these. Bass is very fast, clean and detailed. Mids are technically recessed but instruments are still coherent and smooth. Male vocals are crystal clear. A 3-4khZ bump makes electric guitars and female vocals shouty and fatiguing (I usually EQ to fix this). Highs are Tin P1 level of detailed and aren’t sibilant at all. These will show you what music has been mastered well and what hasn’t. Overall, I think they punch way above their price in sound! They sound fine and get loud enough off my phone but they are smoother and more relaxing running balanced off my Fiio X5III.
Thanks for your reply and sorry for your struggle with those IEMs. Eventually I went for something quite different. For me, comfort comes first. Followed by durability and then comes the sound quality and isolation. Such problems with connectivity and long term durability is a deal breaker for me. I bought a pair of Tin T2 and I’m quite satisfied. Later on, I received my Audiofly AF-180 mkII. Those are the most comfortable IEMs I’ve ever tried and they sound wonderful. Their sound signature is the definition of neutral which may not suit plenty of people but it suits me very well.
Thanks again
