Sonically, what does this bring to the table that is an improvement over something like the JDS Atom? I'm also wondering how much of a reduction in clean output there would be into something like the Beyerdynamic DT880 250 Ohm? Finally, how does the volume control feel? Cheap? Premium? This is one area where the Liquid Spark excels over the Atom.
“I don't need another mediocre headphone amp or any other mediocre product for that matter...”
gets upset over enquiry response to a $42 headphone amp...
SephHaleyI’m temped too, would make a good “hard volume adjust” and faces towards front not side like laptop/laptop dock ports. And looks nice. But also i need to not impulse buy aaaaaaaaaa
EricLotzeLol I read a review somewhere I think they say this emphasize mid and bass more, treble become non existent after 10khz. Otherwise it's nice sounding but pair better with bright headphones (since it shave off treble).
Drawback is since it shave off after 10khz so there is literally no "air" so soundstage is poor apparently. But this is only based off 1 review since it's so hard to find info on this amp.
The reviewer also feel like while Atom sounds "digital" this amp sounds "analogue". He feel like this is probably what old school amp sounds like.
lol I don't know in general I like headphone better I find it's a bit cleaner and easier for me to maintain. With IEM and earbuds I'm always paranoid about having to wipe off the ear grease / ear wax after using it.
So these days I'm just sticking to over ears headphones lol.

And is that a 2.5mm balanced-out under the quarter-inch jack? The description says, "Please note that the balanced output port and unbalanced output port cannot be used at the same time."
