I would absolutely have preferred "in-store credit" if anyone from mass drop is listening, which apparently they aren't...
Man, way to let customer service slide.

That would be my guess as to the reason. Also, I should add that perception and belief in reputations may also play a role in this. Americans are prone to that too. We made awful cars in the US for many years. We make much better ones these days but I'm sure there are still people here who reflexively distrust anything named Ford, Chevrolet, or GM.

This is pretty common in China (I travel there often to meet with clients). There is a (justified) perception among Chinese consumers that products made for the international market, especially for internationally known brands, are of better quality. A number of scandals involving tainted products in personal hygiene (toothpaste, etc.) and food products (milk, formula, etc.) have helped to create this perception. Since name brand export products have to meet higher standards (regulatory and brands own standards) they are often of genuinely higher quality. My area of expertise is mobile devices and while the vast majority of these devices are made in China, I'm not a fan of China market devices, particularly the white-label ones. OTOH, it is possible to get some really great deals on high quality no-name products - but you have to really know what you're buying or you run a good chance of getting garbage. It looks like this amp is one of the good products and apparently is a genuine price performer that punches above its weight.

Wow, so cheap. . . . . . Excitement lasted for a second. $29.99 Drop with a shipping of $48.50. Ok.

mayu08Mine just arrived today from a previous round of this Drop. I'm shocked to find out now that it's $48.50 shipping to Singapore. My round was only $6, I'm sure there is a mistake in the shipping fees.

How many volume steps does the Amp have? The FiiO x1, has a full 100 volume steps, allowing for super-fine-grained control of quiet and loud. Whereas my Android Phone is thoroughly inadequate with only 10 volume steps, as even 1 can be too loud with 16ohm IEMs.

Listening music directly from my Oneplus X smart phone sounds significantly louder and way more enjoyable than listening thru the SAP-7. Even with the volume of the SAP-7 set to the max, and with or without EQ engaged, everything seamed to shrink (soundstage and power) to some degree. Wasted my lunch's $$ on a piece of audio which it will be forgotten at a blink of an eye haha.
