I switched from Topping D10 with different op-amps. My main concern was MQA. I do not consider myself a sophisticated audiophile, but the difference in sound quality is clear. Added to this is a large number of different filters, the ability to work as a preamplifier, although most of these settings are of the kind of switch on and forget. One thing I miss a bit is the lack of op-amp change.
Sounds great, and good price. Makes any speakers into a system that is sounds better than sonos, at a cheaper price. And it won't become obsolete through software updates.
Does the job, sounds clean and natural. However I think most of the dacs are coming pretty close these days so tbh I really dont think the premium over the 789 is 100% worth it. The smaller form factor is good if you want to save some space on the desk and if you also want a pretty screen.
Outputs via balanced and RCA simultanously, which might be useful for some peopel who needs 2 Out.
