No they were not, it was a flash deal and under flash.newegg.com not at newegg.com where you can purchase used products. I bought 2 pairs from their deal and they're brand new sealed with a 1 year warranty. If you're from NJ, you're gonna pay taxes anyway.
moenadI know it was under flash, and it did said LIKE NEW at the bottom. I even tried to price match with Best Buy and they told me they cant with flash.newegg because most of the time items are refurbished.
If they are indeed NEW, then they should improve their communications and avoid making dumb mistakes like that and lose sales.
Got in contact with support asking for an estimate on shipping, tracking number, anything really. They said they did not ship nor have an estimate for shipping but would update if they got one. I asked multiple times for a refund and they denied it because "even though it has not shipped, they did not know for sure that if they did refund that the package wouldn't still be sent, so they can't refund". I think this is a pivotal point for me with Drop and I may not come back. I was part of the Tin T3 drop that wouldn't deliver for months despite amazon and other sources acquiring their stock. So this is the second drop in a row that Drop is put on the backburner and we are left to wait with no communication, making me believe more that it is an issue with Drop. Delays with no communication or refunds and excuses to allow them to do so, they are not willing to do anything to keep their customers. After this drop comes I think I am done with these people who are not willing to offer proper community service.
Never buying Sony again. I had the original ones, a creaking noise developed right away, impossible to get rid off. Slightly moving your head and you could hear it. Controls were unreliable, you often when trying to sleep on a plane touch parts of your body or your partner with the side of the headphone, activating the touch controls. Then, they make models obsolete so quickly that is absurd and finally the Bose QCXX are the most comfortable set of NC bluetooth cans you could possibly get, wouldn't really trade all the issues for a better sound. I wouldn't spend a dime on these.
It is my opinion.. sorry if it hurt your fanboyism. Just giving my advice based on my own experience and thoughts. I think exactly the same about hifiman, not many are ok with buying something and then 6 months after they release a new version, not with new features but with fixes that shouldn't have made to production line. Again, I'm sorry if I'm hurting feelings expressing my opinion.
BigFurYou will often see a high turnover of product models when dealing with technology that is improving all the time, like Bluetooth and noise cancelling. It's the nature of the beast... I have Bose QC headphones as well as the Sony xm3, and while the Bose are marginally (and I mean marginally) more comfortable, the xm3 are better in every other way. In my opinion.
I don't think you're offending anyone with your views, more that it's confusing why you'd be put off a brand for life after having a bad experience with a first version of a new product. It's like with Apple products, the rule is never buy the first version of anything! Wait until they iron out the bugs with the second. Sony is probably the same. ☺

I just spoke with customer service and they said all pairs have shipped. We should have our tracking numbers as soon as Sony sends it to them. But I'm also going to check the tracking number to confirm the date that it was shipped because the story doesn't sound right at all. It just sounds like they're trying to make customers happy blaming another company.
This is most likely my last purchase with Drop.
Bee1Yeah this price is higher than many places, bought them a month ago for 200 euro on Amazon.
I would even advise people not to spend this cash since the XM4's are coming out in the near future.
If Nissan released a car that looked as good as a Ferrari, but drove like it was straight out of a junkyard, and people accepted it, even to the point of trashing Ferrari's name for the sake of the Nissan clout, you could bet that Ferrari owners would be pissed. All in all, I don't really care, I was just noting that Beats are overhyped, and that's the main reason why they sell so well.
matteocaroOverhyped by who, the guys who sell them to the guys who buy them? The only people complaining about them are guys like you, who aren’t in that loop—guys who don’t buy ‘em, and don’t own ‘em!
This drop is a golden opportunity for everyone who's been badmouthing BoseQC35s to finally put their money where there mouth is!
C'mon, what's everybody waiting for? Hit that BUY button!
Even though it was indicated shipping was to take place late afternoon 6/14, I've heard nothing, let along a tracking number. Well, okay, that's not quite true. I did receive a new notification to join a new drop for these same headphones. Something akin to insult on top of injury.
Over the past several years I have purchased close to $3000 in merchandise from (Mass)Drop.
This will be my final purchase.
When I inquired about the delay I received the following boilerplate response:
I know this situation is far from ideal, due to the made to order nature of the site that all shipping dates are estimates not guarantees and is stated on the run page.
So, evidently it's MY FAULT for assuming that this product (which is easily obtainable from other reputable vendors and NOT a "made to order" item, and now available for a comparable price) would actually ship on time. OK, so it's not "guaranteed" but at least some communication would have been nice. "We've placed the order with the vendor and are experiencing a delay, and will contact you with an updated ship date" or any communication other than the "order placed with vendor" and silence? Most people are understanding of delays as long as you communicate with the Customer.
So long, (Mass)DROP.
I used to love Drop. I really did. I loved the "nerdy" things they sell and the design of their website. I recommended friends to use Drop. But they have been ignoring my emails for two days. I couldn't find a number to call them. I even tried to message them on Twitter; nobody cared to reply. The whole experience is chaotic and upsetting. Shopping is much more than a low price tag alone. Having confidence in the seller and knowing that they care about us are very important. I've lost all these in the past few days. I just wish this could end soon and I will never have to deal with them again.
Honestly their track record has been pretty good. When I wrote Customer Support, I stressed that this lack of communication was not typical and that's why I found it surprising. And when a product was delayed, it was one of their "made for Massdrop" items so it was more understandable when production delays occurred. The difference was that we were notified and kept informed. And if I had received that response, I would have been more understanding.
It was the response (in bold text no less) in this case that made me feel like I was being unreasonable for asking for an update that felt like there's more than just a change of name at (Mass)DROP.
Ironically, shortly after posting the discussion board message I sent another message to Customer Service expressing the same thoughts....and amazingly several hours later....I received an email from FedEx stating my order was just picked up and is due for delivery on Monday.
Did the purpose of Drop change when the name changed? BestBuy has had the exact same headphones at the exact same price for three weeks and still does. Both on their website and in-stock in-store. On "sale", but it's been a repeating one.
Drop used to be curated special items for a bit less ("mass" purchase "drop" shipped), with a bit of a wait. But why wait when this commodity item is available instantly for the same price at the largest electronics retailer in the nation?
Damn dude, is this what your temper tantrum looks like when you make unsubstantiated claims you cannot backup? Relax, you made a claim, it was checked for accuracy and found to be wrong. It isn't a big deal.
PramienjagerYeah, that's what happened! Because you're the first of the hundreds of readers (and ten "endorsers") to actually check!
If you were just a bit more literate, you would have noticed it (I) even said, "On "sale", but it's been a repeating one." You can see on their web site, it's apparently stopped repeating; it's no longer on-sale.
Checking for accuracy, you're lying about having had them for "a couple of years"... the SONY WH-1000XM3 came out just a year ago. At $350; they were never $400. And while the XM2 (which is not an XM3) came out just over two years ago, it too was $350.
To quote from some random on this forum... Relax, you made a claim, it was checked for accuracy and found to be wrong. It isn't a big deal.
Except... I was accurate and you lied. But other than that...
