Spinnaker has made a name for itself in the watch community for its nautically themed timepieces—and the Mainsail is no break from that thought process. Resembling a life preserver floating out at sea, the watch features a Seiko 24-jewel automatic movement with a 38-hour reserve Read More
Ahh the Dumas. I want one of those and the new Bradner. I just bought a green Croft on watches.com for $256 with 20% off, so much better than paying the full $320.
I missed it's delivery today though, so I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to check it out and give my opinion!!!
I have everything from a $20 Timex, to a VERY expensive and RARE Rolex Date Tiffany and Co, and I honestly like my $80-$400 watches the best!
I've said this numerous times before, but I prefer those cheaper watches to anything expensive. The high prices ones NEVER get worn, because I'm afraid of damaging them. And the $80-$300 watches might not be made of 18k gold, but they're cheap and durable enough to handle just about any situation. If they're damaged, you get a replacement, or just chalk it up and move on to another one in my collection!
My MOST worn watches out of the 30+ I own, are my Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster Diver BN0150-28E, that I got for a daily deal on Amazon for $113, shipping included, and I have a StrapCode/Miltat Super Engineer II black PVD SS bracelet on it and wear it ALL of the time. I'm also a HUGE fan of my Casio MTD-1079 black dial/bezel, which has the awesome Super Illuminator light on it. Other daily worn watches are a Stuhrling Aviator (3196.3), which has the black and green dial. I hated the stock green leather band, and put a great looking $30 HStrap PVD Black bracelet on it and love it now. Also, my Citizen Eco-Drive PRT with the taupe dial and brown leather NATO Strap is awesome and VERY comfortable and casual looking!!!
So my more expensive Rolex Date Tiffany and Co and my super rare Accutron Empire 28B03 are both beautiful watches, but they just never get much wrist time because they're so expensive!!! So what I'm getting at is that you DON'T need a high-end luxury watch to enjoy the hobby or have a really great watch, just buy whatever YOU like and makes you happy 😉😎👍⌚
That said though, I'd NEVER pass down a Romain Gauthier Logical One if someone just handed me one, or I could actually afford to buy one myself! The chain link on the dial of that is both unique AND keeps very accurate time, and is probably the nicest and most unique and badass looking watch made for MY tastes, and I much prefer Diver's style Watches over a fancier, dressy watch like the Logical One!
Anyone have $110,000 I can have that they don't need lol 😁
I agree, the Seiko SKX are very accurate and tough Diver's watches, but they're very bland and plain for my tastes. I already have a Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster BN-0150-28E divers watch that is VERY similar to the SKX, and it is my most worn watch, period. But since I already have the Citizen solar powered watch, I don't want the SKX as they look too similar!!!
However, I absolutely LOVE the Seiko Solar Tuna SNE-498, and I LOVE the Seiko Automatic SRPC-44 Turtle. Now those are two very unique looking Diver's watches IMO, that also won't break the bank! Obviously not as good as the higher end Seiko Watches, but good enough for me, that's for sure 😁🕺⌚ Add on a beautiful and HQ StrapCode/Miltat SS bracelet, and you have a winner right there!!!
About Spinnaker: Spinnaker is one of multiple watch brands of Dartmouth Brands, which sells watches made by Hong Kong watch maker Solar Time, Ltd., founded in 1977. Dartmouth is wholly or majority-owned by Notan Tolani, a naturalized British citizen born in 1946 who immigrated to Hong Kong from Pakistan (he identifies as Indian) when he was 22. Corporate filings indicate that, along with Tolani, Solar Time is also a majority or whole owner of Dartmouth, leading me to believe that Tolani owns Solar, which in turn owns Dartmouth. Dartmouth is a U.K. corporation, apparently a non-resident corporation with no offices in the U.K., because its contact information for legal process is a mail drop/resident agent company.
Solar Time Limited in Chinese is 蘇拿太有限公司.

leelovesbugHi Lee, I just watched a review and the reviewer said it wore surprising smaller because it was tiered. To make some sense of this, I assume he meant the top circumference is smaller than the bottom. Hope this helps.
Warning to all - I ordered the Spinnaker Spence during the last drop. My watch had 2 issues on arrival - one mechanical and one aesthetic. I immediately reached out to Spinnaker for a replacement or service and they charge $29 for the return, no exceptions. And I have to pay for shipping on top of that. So be wary of your purchases. Personally, I won’t buy another Spinnaker, no matter how good the deal is.
I've had it for about a week now and have only worn it for a day......... It's simply too big and far too thick to tuck under my sleeve.
I'm not knocking on the Spinnaker brand but the Mainsail was a flop and should be discontinued or redesigned as smaller/thinner watch. Selling a subpar product isn't going to do them any favors.
