Spyderco’s designs and collaborations run the gamut. But if there’s one common theme in them all, it’s a quality build. One of the more exotic in the lineup is the Hundred Pacer, inspired by the Taiwanese viper—and it definitely lives up to its name. To start, the blade is a super wide trailing point. When deployed, the signature thumb hole looks like the eye of the snake, the long, sweeping blade the head. Made from CTS-XHP, which is similar to 440C but harder for better edge retention, the blade is finished in clean satin. The handle is textured like the scales of a viper, too. Rough to the touch, it won’t slide out of your hand, no matter the task. Within the G-10 scales is a liner lock with ridges to make closure a little easier. Rounding out the Hundred Pacer is the tip-up clip which can be reversed for lefties.
