It does what it needs to
Works well for any headphones or earbuds I use on the go. Build quality and materials are good, it's endured a decent amount of abuse using it around worksites.
I seriously wish that they hadn't anodized BEYOND NAIVE onto the body. It's weird, and is kinda insulting to the buyer. Care needs to be taken if using with a phone kept in a pocket, as the shape of the 3.5mm housing could easily crack a screen if it was between the phone and the body.

Decent dac/amp
Does the job well for its price but if you're willing to pay around 16 more dollars I would recommend the ddHiFi TC35B instead (its smaller and provides better sound).

Sounds ho-hum... quite a bit of static in mine

Although, aside from the build quality, I'm getting quite a bit of static coming through. Seems to be a ground issue, as touching the USB-C (metal) end with my bare fingers tends to quiet it, but not eliminate it. It's a bit distracting; hopefully I just have a defective one.

Not as good as the built-in headphone jack on my phone (Galaxy). An OK adapter to 3.5mm for my iPad in a mobile situation (e.g. on the rowing machine).

Not working . . .
I have a Samsung Galaxy 8S+. It actually has a headphone output but I ordered one of these anyway to try and get better fidelity. Just received it and hooked it up. . .and it didn't produce any sound. I went to my setting and could find anything that looked promising.
Will this only work if there is no headphone output?

The Deco.1 is slightly louder and better sounding than the output on my phone. Great built quality but average in sound. Good for Android phones with no 3.5mm headphone jack.

Good sound, okay amplification
Sounds good, but I wish it had greater amplification. Only marginally above the amplification of my built-in headphone jack. Still, for $24, you can't expect super amplification. I'd recommend it for $24, as long as you're not expecting to drive planars or something off of it.
