Cheerio lads! Engraved on the back of this is the iconic, retro British phrase: Half past a monkey’s a$$, and quarter to his balls. Just a reminder in case anyone asks you for the time while wearing this.
I kind of like the black PVD version with blue hands (ES-8095-05). And even with the Chinese movement (does anyone know which movement it uses?), the $99 price tag for a true dual-time-zone GMT (the 24 hours complication is set independently from the main time using that hidden push button at 2:30, according to the manual) makes it quite appealing. Besides, watching a balance wheel do its work is mesmerizing and I need that type of entertainment in my life, so I'll pull the trigger on one and report back once I get it.
I know that it's probably a mushroom brand, but at this price not that many things can go wrong. Yes, I would like an open heart COSC certified Swiss GMT movement under a double domed sapphire crystal in a 10 mm tall case, beating at 28,800 bps, but at this price I don't think I will complain too much, so long as it works reasonably accurate for the next few years :)
This is a good price, half of what Earnshaw are currently asking on their sale. I bought the black PVD one recently for my son and paid around $150usd,it is quite well made, but ordinary strap which we replaced straight away. Keeps good time and looks great: well at least my son thinks so!!
