Refusal to take responsibility.
Hi, Just thought I would make a note here of your handling of my issues. I ordered a pair of HD6xx headphones and then earlier today recieved the package. I drive to go and get it, as I like in the UK I had to pay import tax and handling fees. These total £47.92. The breakdown being £35.92 in tax and £12 in fees. These taxes were calculated of the shipping label of the box, which marked the shipment as the 6xx headphones of $199 value. Before leaving the parcel depot, I open the box to find a $35 lord of the rings mousepad. So now the problem is not only do I not have the headphones, but you have marked the shipment wrong so I have paid £47.92 fees for the handling of the mousepad. Which would have acrued £0 of fees if marked correctly as it is under £135. I go back to the desk but as I have already paid the fees I am unable to reject the shipment, but as the box said 6xx, there was no way for me to know before opening it. Right ear keeps cutting out
So I have a PC38x headset that I bought a few years back. I moved away from home for work, and left the headset there with my gaming PC. I used it maybe 2 or 3 times before I left, and it always had the problem of it cutting out in my right ear phone. It makes like a crackling noise like something is loose, and then cuts out the audio entirely. Sometimes it works for a few minutes, but inevitably cuts out on the right side again. I am wondering if there is a fix? Or could I be shipped a new one?

Please suggest headphones for me.
Please someone here help buy a headphone for my use case- listen mostly Indian music ( old and new Bollywood songs ) . play them on my iPhone. So need to be wireless. must be light and comfortable for small ears and 3-4 hours of listening. noise canceling is not important. budget is around $150. i am not audiophile by any means and do not understand much of the jargon. Just want something that sounds good and is comfortable on my ears while I work from home. thank you all.

pc38x still has audio coming through with the volume dial turned all the way down
Finally got my hands on the pc38x. I mostly wanted to try this headset because of all the good things i heard about it. Out of the box i wasn’t really impressed. My 50 dollar astros were just as loud if not louder. After setting up an EQ on dolby access i got them sounding a little better. But one thing that really bothers me is the volume dial on the headset. When i turn it all the way down there’s so much audio still coming through, like the headset is turned up 10-20%. Is this normal?

It's not done, I apologize for the mess. Health issues have put this on hold. It's a small room and I'm likely to sell off my KEF 104.2 loudspeakers and some other gear after surrendering the living room to my wife after her patience of 35 years. She deserved her own little sanctuary.

The PA3 Stereo Amp is for passive speakers so you don't need that.
The other side is the amp. Amps tend to affect your headphones sound much more since they are supplying the power to the drivers, and in general, the more power the amp has, the less distortion there is when pushing the volume loud (some amps with less power but high gain can get loud but the sound will get veiled, muddy, or otherwise distorted so it doesn't sound as clear, or you start to hear a background hiss because the gain is cranked high so it's just magnified instead of truly powered properly to that volume) so with this drop's headphone amp, the A30, it will do well with most headphones, though the 300 and 600 ohm headphones will be shorter of power (not by much, talking 20 to 80 mWs difference, most headphones under $200 and under 250 ohms don't need more than 180mW average, some peak bass may need 400mW but only when that strong bass is actually played) compared to a direct competitor, the Magni 3 from Schiit. Magni 3 puts out about double the power at 32 ohms, but unless you have planars, 250+ ohm headphones, or some fostex, EMU, or Denon headphones, you can get by without the doubled power of the Magni 3. Personal preference is the rest of it. Personally, I like more bass, smooth and detailed mids, and more relaxed treble, so the D30 fits my ear, and the Magni 3 and Jotunheim unbalanced connected to it are great with all my headphones.
I'd say get both here unless you really want more 250+ ohm headphones or planar magnetic headphones, you might want to get just the D30 and then the Magni 3 from Schiit. I won't say Schiit is the best, but at the price range, they tend to be some of the best price/performance at this level. Once you hit $400+, other amps from other companies tend to be more sought after.
Also I do believe others have said the A30 has a slightly higher output impedance so idk how accurate the low ohm headphones are, but like I said before I'm not a big IEM fan so my opinion there is moot.
The only thing I have to add to the high ohm cans is bass tends to need higher peak power for that moment of bass slam, so having that little extra power can squeeze out that extra oomph, idk how big of a difference the two would have.
Of course, I need an A30 to tell any sound coloration, since that would likely be the biggest difference with different parts and configuration on the inside. Someone that has both may be able to chime in.
I am also new to high-end audio. Last year I started my little investment : I have an HD6XX, A30 and D30. I am really happy with this setup. Both DAC and Amp improve the music very much. I think you can't go wrong with this. This is a cool beginner setup. I plugged the HD6XX to my friend's higher end setup (500$ DAC and Vali amp), it's quite impossible to tell a difference. You know there is something a little bit different, but it's impossible to recoognize on which setup you are plugged. I have never tried a really cheap DAC/Amp but I think that what is important is to have a decent Amp/DAC combo.
