Great build, bit of noise, barely bluetooth
I've been using this Dac/Amp for quite a while now and since the very first day it was very noisy. Both on USB-In and Line-In. It's especially noticeable on the headphone output, but the speaker output has noise too. I feel a bit lied to, as I bought this unit after watching a review, in which it was said to be perfectly usable with IEMs even, when it's really not. And it's not just the "normal" kind of noise that sounds like pink noise (although that's in there too), it's a very high pitched kind of noise. It actually sounds like it might be broken. So I don't really know if it's just that bad of an amp they put in there or if the thing broke in shipping or something. Remote control is working, but your pointing game has to be spot on. Also you often have to press buttons several times for it to register. Build quality is really good. Very sturdy unit. Mine does not give me static shocks when I touch it (I heard some do). My main problem is the bluetooth input. It cuts out when simply standing between the unit and your phone and range is not very impressive either. I can move around with my phone in the same room, but going to the next room completely cuts the connection. It also turns on sometimes when I turn on my phone's bluetooth. Or if someone else does so. And it will automatically try to connect with basically anything. Because of that I can't leave it on "auto", meaning I have to manually turn it on/off and switch sources when I want to use it. Absolute bummer.. TLDR; It's noisy and bluetooth is barely usable. Other than that it's a nice, convenient unit. ngl, if they left out bluetooth, this would be a 4/5. Even with the noise. It's just so annoying.. Updated on 19th Feb. 2022

So far I am very pleased with this amp and it seems to be a good value. The dac is very good and it powers speakers very well with excellent sound quality. It is powering a pair of DCM floorstanding Timeframes with no problem. The eq function comes in handy but the only negative is the remote which works sometimes and other times

Great amp for easy listening
I use this amp to drive a couple of Martin Logan motion 15s in my living room with a Chromecast audio using optical. Lovely sound performance, easy to use and wonderful controls. I particularly love that I can simply cast music to my Chromecast and this automatically turns on, remembers the volume level and my music is playing in seconds. The Bluetooth functionality was strong for the first month or so, but then became a little spotty. Since I don't use Bluetooth anyway, it's not an issue, but it nags at me if I think about it. I've not used the headphone jack yet. I love the volume dial - it's solid and feels great, and the display is nice and large, so easy to read at a distance. Overall, good performer at this price point.

Did the job for about 40 days, died. I was unable to even fully open it to maybe tinker with it. It does not come with any kind of guarantee besides Massdrops one for DOAs.

I primarily got this for my home media center. Unfortunately the remote doesn't work very well at all, forcing us to get up from the couch to adjust the volume. The unit isn't grounded and prone to static electric shocks.

I got this for my friends computer, he is blind and needed something simple to operate with as few component's as possible. This unit has worked perfectly for him, he can easily switch between sources and outputs and greatly enjoy's listening to music on his speakers. In general I recommend the brand Topping, as I have a DX7 on my machine and have no problems and find it high quality.

ProtekSo less than a year later and the DAC *or usb input is dead *edit: But the amp works on line in so he's still using it. *edit again: it was the usb input that was dead, I tested it on spdif and it worked fine. But I shipped it to a friend in a tech care package

I tried this with my Fostex, Nusound, and hifiman sets and when compared with straight out of my pixel XL or out of my Dark voice the sound was completely lacking in range and definition. I was planning to simply run my garage book shelfs off of this while Bluetoothed to my phone but decided the sound was so lackluster that I just bought a Milwaukee shop speaker setup instead and am much happier with it. Sad, since it was such a good idea, it's sitting in the box now.
