UltimateEarsHi UE, I an not sure if this account is still active, but I am awfully disappointed at your ill practice in warranty. I got UE900s about 3 months ago. It was defective so I asked for warranty repair. I got response that they are out of stock that you cant give me warranty replacement or fix even though you are currently selling the item on your website . Nice bullshit excuse to not give warranty that you promised.

Wow, so many complaints. I’m pretty sure most ppl know what they are getting into. But complaining after purchasing seems a litte childish.

I got a Email said the shipping has been delayed. Does anybody know why? and when it will be shipped according to the new plan? I've already waited for 3 weeks which is pretty long already. Really need it without long wait anymore.

Mine just arrived!! 6 days ahead of when FedEx said it’d arrive, no less. Paired with my Sound Blaster E5 DAC, these sound *amazing*. Some people equate “amazing” with “bass-heavy”, but these ones are balanced in a way I can really appreciate—I’m hearing way more details in the mids than I was able to hear before.

JacobSyndeoI have to agree. I recently got my pair and they seem pretty well balanced. I feel vocals may be just a little recessed, but definitely aren’t lost, kind of smooths out the sound and makes them relaxing a bit. But man is the imaging on these amazing.

I would be really hesitant in purchasing these. While they sound fantastic, the build quality of both the earphones and the cables are terrible. I've owned 2 pairs of these and neither lasted longer than 6 months. Also they might as well not have warranty, because Logitech isn't going to honor it anyways. They wouldn't replace my cable even though it stopped working within 2 months of purchase, and then wouldn't replace my earphones because they had been discontinued (back in 2015 for the original model).

That is my exact concern since $175 for an iem no matter how awesome it sounds for the price is still expensive to me and want to get atleast a couple years out of them with proper care and have that piece of mind just Incase something goes wrong. There is a 1 year warranty on these the rep from UE said though. I am not sure what exclusions there are but if I can get a guaranteed year full replacement warranty out of these I will finally be quiet and join this drop! Anyone else have these and have a good experience of the build holding up for 6 months+?
RareAirsAfter hearing about Logitech/UE's customer service and business practice issues, I'm giving up thinking that having 4 BAs matters more than the 2 extensively-researched and perfectly-tuned BAs found in the well-supported Noble X IEMs. My rather old Noble 3 universal IEMs are still going strong (though I did just recently have to replace the cables), and still might be my favorite headphones (even over my Sennheiser HD 650s).
I looked in on this drop hoping that these might have more bass than my Nobles, but since they don't, and regarding the issues with the company, I guess I'll just keep using an EQ to jack up that bass (interestingly enough, they are capable of delivering wonderful punchy and deep bass, but sometimes an EQ just messes up the sound quality).

I searched the discussion and couldn't find this so I figured I'd just post it. I just wanted to bring to people's attention to the fact that "apparently" Logitech has sent out some UE900s packaging with UE900 IEMs inside rather than the model on the box. The way to tell the difference is included in the attached image.

To you and RareAirs, UE stated in a post that they themselves do not offer any reshelling services. The original post about the coupon was really confusing as it mentioned an 'upgrade' but it's really a discount on any of their ciems other than the 4 pro.
inearz seems to be a pretty reliable place where people have gotten their triplefis reshelled before and they seem like they can do the ue900s too. Their prices start at $125 and even I am thinking about getting mine reshelled one day.

jeerreeOkay, thanks for clarification. Figured it was too good to be true! But yes, I've used Fisher/Inearz for my reshelling and can vouch for their work.

First and foremost, the un-boxing experience was good. Everything was well packaged and presented neatly. The earbud fitment kit was a BRILLIANT addition, I think all hi-fi or even mid-fi IEMs should come with something like this, simply based on how crucial a good fit is (especially for balanced armature drivers).

search

Also, seeing the blue stem was a good sign, after hearing the horror stories of the UE900 IEMs being packaged in a 900s box. Anyhow, that said, here are my impressions:
Fit - 7.2/10 The silicone tips are very soft and the foam tips are fairly comfortable. The body of the IEM doesn't fit nearly as flush as some of it's competitors (i.e., Westone, Shure, etc.) but still overall it's fairly comfortable.
Build - 5.9/10 I may be wrong but everything seems to be made out of fairly simple plastics. Every part feels fine but that's about it, nothing feels quite as premium as it's MSRP would imply. That said, nothing felt particularly cheap either.
Sound - 8.5/10 This is my initial impression after only a few hours of listening, but these sound very good. They're not quite as detailed, bright, or excited as some competitors such as the Shure se425 but it has very tight and detailed bass and a more comfortable sound signature. Overall listening to music on these is very colourful and dynamic. They are a playful and musical earbud rather than a hyper-precise and analytical earbud. After some more use, I have more notes:
Sub-Bass: As one would assume, with a dedicated sub-bass driver, it would sound pretty good. And that assumption is not wrong, as the sub-bass is both impactful and fast. I was quite impressed with the power and extension of these buds.
Bass: The bass on these IEMs continue to have solid punch and detail. It also comes across with a lot of character (this may or may not be a good thing depending on how analytical you want your IEMs to be) which makes it nearly playful when listening.
Mids: They're present, but I cannot say too much more about them. The mids are not BAD per se but they don't leave much of an impression. These earbuds clearly have a V-shaped sound signature so if you listen to a lot of music with prominent female vocals, these might not do you right. Despite this, the mids are still as detailed as any other part of the spectrum, if not a little bland and recessed when compared with the rest of the sound.
Highs: The highs are crisp and detailed while still keeping a lid on things, never becoming sibilant or too sharp. They aren't quite as precise as some other high-end IEMs but you defintely won't find yourself disappointed with the highs on these buds.
Overall - 7.4/10 After my initial impressions, I'm really excited to see how these stack up against my collection of headphones and I look forward to further discovering it's nuances. Great buy to everyone in this drop!
Edit: I'd just like to note that the rumours about build quality are true, in that they seem to use cheap materials. The paint on the back-plate of mine is starting to wear as well as some of the foam eartips have fallen apart. Personally the cosmetic damages are not a huge deal to me but the eartips definitely are. I suggest investing in some Comply 200 series eartips (I use the T200).

itsShuGot mine in Ottawa. Happy to say that they were packed quite nicely, and the audio quality is excellent. I am also very impressed with the quality of the package, not only by massdrop but ultimate ears as well. Definitely worth the wait.
BONUS SURPRISE ---- -- This sticker is on all 900s purchased from this drop.
That would make the price of the 900s $24.99 when you upgrade to custom.

Received these last week. I'm honestly quite disappointed with them. The design and style are great, as is the fit and finish, but they truly sound terrible. Very little bass, and absolutely zero sub-bass. I've tried numerous sources and get the same results.

I did a quick search and found these at the same price and lower on other sites with faster shipping.... What is the benefit of buying here?

TeethplusThe purpose of a group buy is to get a large discount on an item if there's enough people in the group to satisfy the manufacturer. That's what Massdrop use to be about. Now Massdrop is nothing more than a marketplace for vendors to make a quick buck, especially on old, rebrand and/or discontinued stock. Most of the time you can find it cheaper elsewhere and with faster shipping. If the discount is $5 to $10, I rather just buy it on Amazon or something. The only time I join a drop is with "Massdrop Made" stuff like the Sennheiser HDXXX or AKG K7XX

TeethplusCouple of reasons for me.
1) This site is US based and UE has already confirmed they will honor the warranty on these. If I buy from an international seller, there is no guarantee UE would honor the warranty on a likely unauthorized reseller.
2) I plan to use the $150 on ciems. Now if they run a black friday promotion on ue900s with ciem purchase like they did a few years back, then I screwed myself out of a better deal, but as it stands this is the right deal for me.

I have some (now discontinued) UE TripleFi 10s that I had re-shelled as CIEM's. Those things are 15 years old and still my go-to IEMs as far as sound quality, resolution and isolation. They are triple drivers, so this one adds an extra bass driver. A quick search at Head-Fi shows folks selling these used for more than this drop price. I need another set of IEM's like I need a hole in my head, but I'm considering grabbing them and having them on stand-by for if/when my CIEMs finally crash.

Great advice and suggestions... I will certainly move forward to figure out how to do this with my TripFi10s and depending on how the SE535LTDs come back, possibly look into those as well (to prevent that cracked shell issue from happening again, and creating better sound isolation)... That said, I wear my IEMs A LOT and for VERY long periods of time sometimes... I always thought that the foam tips would provide the most comfort possible... Are you stating that the custom molds will provide better all day comfort as well?? Given a proper mold of course??

SiggystyleThey do for me, but I don't wear anything that long... a few hours tops. But in those few hours, the CIEM's are far superior from a comfort standpoint than any other IEM's I have. The only real drawback is that the seal is so good, you'll have to remove one to hold a conversation with someone, so they aren't ideal if you'll be in an interactive setting. And because they sit flush in your ear, the only real way to get them out is to use the cable, which is why I'd suggest getting recessed sockets so that there is less strain over time at the pins than on a non-recessed socket like I have. MMCX connectors are different and may be more sturdy in that regard provided the cables you want come with that style termination. Best of luck.
