Why would it matter if there is an "EU plug"...? That connector in the back looks pretty standard -- can I just buy the "EU" version (since the one with the "US plug" is out of stock anyway) and use my own cable? What am I missing here? Is the voltage selectable? The back just shows "230/115" so I assume it can do either but I see no switch to select as I have on other gear....
lalawilsonThat might have been no dac, this drop only has the built in dac version it seems, toslink only too, kinda weird but not a whole lot of room back there, i get it
EMmZI can't speak for Drop or Violectric so I don't know why they told you that. Sounds like you were the victim of a stock shortage/miscalculation?
Mine arrived on 5 January 2021. Actually it arrived in Australia on 28 December 2020 but it takes an extra week to get to the right side of the continent.
JbenDrop support told me there is no warranty, *after* mine arrived. So buyer beware. At least if there's any problem on arrival Drop does offer free returns.
privilegedidiotAfter I received my V280 and had some issues, Drop support told me:
"I just reviewed your order and it looks like this product didn't come with a manufacturer's warranty, which would be noted on the product run page."
Thankfully my issues I can live with. But not having a proper warranty would be a deal breaker to most people at this price. If I was to buy a V280 again then I would do so from an authorized reseller.
My V280 has developed a very loud crackling sound, I requested customer service but I only get automated emails, is this unit having any warranty? I'm getting worried because it's an expensive Amp.
They should specify warranty to customers clearly before buying as per law but they don't, they just said its out of return period and there is nothing to do but a company as violectric is not letting their customers down, I'll let you know how it goes but I know for sure I'm not buying here again. Good luck with your unit.
