Originally released in 2013, the Sea Force by Wenger—with its screw-down crown, sapphire crystal, and 120-click bezel—was built for life at sea. The new Sea Force Arctic Light is, too, and it shares all of these tough-as-nails attributes with the original. But this special-edition timepiece pays tribute to one of the harshest maritime climates in the world: the Arctic Circle. From the ice-blue silicone strap and bezel to the glacier-white dial, which features a textured silver engraving of the Arctic Circle region, the watch exudes a teeth-chattering aesthetic that honors its namesake.
Note: This drop is limited to 41 units.
Powered by Swiss Ronda 515 quartz movement, the watch features large lumed hands and block markers, as well as a bright-red seconds hand, for easy legibility. As if delineating the area for which the watch is named, the dial features a dotted line around the inner ring. On the outer ring, small Arabic numerals denote the minute in intervals of five, and a Swiss flag sits at 12 o’clock. The Sea Force Arctic Light also features a luminous pip on the bezel, at 12 o’clock. A date window, which is controlled by way of a screw-down crown at 3 o’clock, is positioned between 4 and 5.
