Retro-looking keyboards are in. And don’t plan on them going out of style any time soon. Now you can get that retro look on a keyboard of your own Read More
This set is quite cheap DSA keycaps. Yes, they have issues with legend alignment, which are not consistent across the set, theirs kits are not quite good for small form factor keyboards, but overall the keycaps are pretty good. They are quite thick, haptics feel ok for the price, not too smooth but not too raw, thanks to the uniform profile they allow to cover 40s without any issues. Two bad things I noticed: some keycaps are warped relatively to the stem axis, and also shape of keycaps are different for different keycaps, which is ok for the price.
I like platform-neutral Super/Windows keys, I like colours, so it seems the set hit the expectation level I gave it when I purchased it.
Good value for the price I'd say. a little bit on the loose side, would like them to grip the switch stem a little tighter, but it's fine. For the price it's definitely ok
These are decent for the price but don't really stand up to scrutiny. The quality of the legends is good, but the uniformity of the caps is really bad. If you look at the close-up picture I've included, you can see that the tops and bottoms of the caps are all slightly different heights, so they don't quite line up. Chances are that if you're reading this you have some degree of OCD, so this may be a dealbreaker for some. I also wish ALL the modifiers were in the accent color. It's weird to me that it's only the arrow cluster, enter, and escape. My favorite thing about this set is probably the platform-neutral "SUPER" key. It sounds cool and looks equally at home for Windows and Mac.
If you're just dipping a toe into the world of aftermarket keycaps, I can still recommend these as a kind of gateway drug. Likewise, they make a great gift for people who aren't going to obsess over things like keycap alignment. I ended up giving mine to a friend and he loved them.
Got the key caps. They took a very long time to come to Canada and any updates on shipping were lost once they crossed the border, which I believe is just drop.com. They key caps look as advertised, except that pretty much every key is not perfectly aligned and text on some key caps are not centered. Additionally, the space bar has an odd bend to it.
