- power switch on the back that allows you to use external or battery when charging is nice in theory, but has snagged at least once in my pocket and turned the whole thing off.
- There is no bass boost, but I never used it
- there is no dedicated play controls, just a pause and play button on the side (the Bluetooth button)
- its balanced, and the power output in balanced is more than enough to drive difficult headphones. I had yet to push the volume greater than half way with any of my headphones and the boost does a good job as well.
- the built in Bluetooth is a God send in comparison to the adapter that I used to use on the Xd05 plus.
- there are leather cases that are available that make it look nice.
- you have two op amps that can be switched out, an in fact encourages you to switch.
- it’s everything the plus is and more.

Can someone tell me why I should buy this over Q5s which is cheaper and look cooler than this. Sound from Q5s has no objection at all. Only it struggle with over 300 ohm headphones.

khaja-724612You would get this primarily if you had headphones that need more power. These deliver about double the power output of the Q5s. Otherwise, the Q5s is just fine and cheaper indeed.

The XD-05 Bal is finally here! But...
... It's over $400.
... It features a mini-AES input that no one but xDuoo DAP users will likely ever use.
... No Balanced Line In.
... No Balanced Line Out.
... Lackluster power from its 'balanced' headphone-out.
Maybe next time, xDuoo.

Always curious to know what makes all the Passers, Hard Passers, (and even gas-passers), think the rest of us are so keen hear about their decisions?
My reaction is almost always the same: whatever--who gives a shit?
Last night I decided not to order Dominos (hard pass, I had pizza last week). Was I supposed share that life-changing decision with a half-million MD members too?
My guess is that most probably wouldn't have been all that interested.

Sadly Qobuz does not exist where I am. I do prefer MQA over the normal Hifi files on Tidal 🤷🏻♂️

Justus.TanYou should check recently news about MQA (check youtube goldenboy) ! Sometimes, Reality kick at your door without asking, what subjective BS you wanted to believe now is clarify. It's ok, Is audiophile community, people think they hear something different and they will FIGHT for it, DIE for it, till they prove you wrong. Now is the time you decide to be a grown up and accept it, or continue being a fanboy and live with your lies.
