Originally created more than 2,000 years ago, Damascus steel is made by folding many layers of steel together in a unique pattern. Because of this process, it’s been hailed as a super steel. These kitchen knives are made of 67 or 101 layers of Damascus steel. The result is a super strong edge that’s been hardened to up to 62 on the Rockwell scale, and a look that's even better in person. After undergoing a special heat and cooling treatment, each knife is sharpened on a Japanese whetstone with fine grits. The handle is made up of smooth pakkawood, which is fastened by three bolsters, the middle of which is a mosaic for added flair. Thanks to their full-tang construction, these knives are tough as nails and fit for any job you throw at them in the kitchen.
