I got these to wear at basketball games where it gets pretty loud. Also possibly for sleeping. The silicon is soft and seals well (moisten with just a touch of water), but you can still hear clearly. Highs are noticeably cut. The case is bomb proof. There is sound conduction through the bones in your head and the earplugs, so when you talk (or cheer), you will hear it as if you were talking with your fingers in your ears.
I bought these for work. We have to wear earplugs all day, every day at my job and these are more comfortable and effective than the disposable foam plugs I was using. They're also way faster to insert which is nice when you're running behind and have a three minute walk from the plant entrance to the time clock. After several months I've noticed that the tips are porous and absorb skin oil. This lead to them falling apart. This despite my wiping them down before and after use. Still, they lasted for six months of daily use at 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. They definitely don't owe me anything.
Haven't used them for their intended purpose of live music yet, but I did test them out bywearing them on my commute when I forgot my IEM's and needed to dampen the noise of traffic and high schoolers on public transit. They did this pretty damn well. The vapid conversations of adolescents were washed away by the sound of blood flowing through my head and the noise of the road was dampened to more than acceptable levels. I'm sure they'll be even nicer at a concert. Highly recommend if you need more than shitty foam plugs, but don't want to spend much on plugs. Plenty comfy for a couple hours of wear as well.
I wanted something to block a lot of noise but not all. I had a pair of a different brand that was supposed to do this but they barely blocked much noise at all. These fit good and are comfortable. Most importantly the sound is greatly muffled. If the noise level is very loud, I can still hear but it is at a more comfortable level. If the level is mid to loud, much of the noise is blocked out to a soft muffle.
For reasons unknown I was not been able to attend couple concerts I planned to test these there. For now using it while driving my motorcycle, the exhausts on which can compete with metal concerts.
Edit: after testing them in a concert I can say they block too much overall, vocals a bit less, will look for something below 20
Earplugs fit well, the sizing seems right (I got the small, which I usually wear in other brands). I got them with the intention of replacing my well-used Etymotic ER20's that have those nice sticks shooting out of my ears, making them impossible to use for sleep or with headphones. They work quite well for these purposes so far, and are easy to insert and remove.
My main issue with these is the case, which appears to be sized to fit the Large. As described, the small set does come with both small and medium silicon, but only 2 filters, which is fine I guess but I feel like I pay a little more for parts I'll never use, and that feels wasteful. Perhaps a better option would be to include 2 filter sets, each with a different suppression value.
To give me a case that can fit 6~8 of these smalls also feels like a weird decision. I found a better replacement on amazon and pictured them SxS below. https://imgur.com/gallery/FWwkkKe
The value is pretty okay, and I'm happy with my purchase, but I think the manufacturer could make a couple improvements to make the value feel a bit better overall.
I bought these to use as earplugs on construction and they work perfectly. It blocks out all loud noisy machines but whenever someone is talking to me I hear them crystal clear.
