Heavy, but satisfying.
It's on the heavy side, and I'd prefer unassisted opening, but it's a solid knife with a pleasing design.

This knife is very clean and well built. Just took a star off because my package came with some weird white powder on the blade.

Not great but maybe OK at this price point. May want to wait for improvements.
Combination 3.6" version - Generally nice construction. Pretty decent fit and finish. Poor blade centering with blade coating worn in one spot where it rubbed against the liner slightly (may be pushing tolerance beyond prudent limits). Spring assist mechanism failed within 7 days (probably a mistake for a blade this heavy). No response from Drop or Al Mar on this issue, though this review was requested by email. Straight 3.0" blade version - No major issues but a little too much force needed to deploy. I own or have gifted 11 Japanese, 1 US (SERT), and now 3 Chinese made Al Mars in a variety of handle and blade configurations. The Chinese knives are definitely not to the level of what I've seen previously from Al Mar (or We, Reate, Rike, Kizer even), but the potential looks to be there. I think we'll probably see improvement in the near future.
