To make headphones with maximum musicality, engineers at Audio-Technica went straight to the source: the world’s finest musical instruments. There, they found the rare Japanese hardwood Kokutan (also called striped ebony) and used it to create housings for the ATH-AWKT. Ideal for natural dampening, Kokutan pairs with exclusive 53-millimeter drivers featuring an efficient German Permendur magnetic circuitry to deliver detailed audio with an expansive soundstage. Titanium flange and 6N-OFC voice coils ensure precise diaphragm movement and signal transfer, while a proprietary Double Air Damping System divides the housing structure into two acoustic chambers for excellent bass response. Angled arms and sheepskin earpads round out the ATH-AWKT with optimized comfort.
