Amazon.ca has the 250-ohm version for $285 CAD + free shipping. Is this a good deal?

What's the sound profile? Is it linear and clear, or is this also just bass?

It is bit V shaped like all Beyer's but the 600 ohm version cuts down on some of the sibilance of the lesser ohm versions. The bass is clear and tight down to sub-bass but not overwhelming or boomy. I dig them more than my DT770 80 Ohms for sure. My 2 cents.

Questions:
  1. Will I be able to enjoy these if I don't have an amplifier?
  2. Is there a link to the 250 ohm version of the premium limited-edition black?
I'll be using these for PC desktop use and have it hooked up my gaming PC which has a dedicated sound card. I understand it is a 600 ohm headphone and this is why I'm concerned. Thank you in advance.

Having owned the Asus Essence STX ii, Meridian Prelude, and Creative ZXR sound cards, I can tell you that while they do have enough power to drive the headphones, none of them will bring out the headphones' potential (or any audiophile grade headphones for that matter). They're best used for PC oriented things like gaming or videos, not for audio quality. For audio, AMP + DAC is still and may forever be the way to go. (For reference, I have DT 1990 PROs and even a Topping D10 sounds much more enjoyable on music for me than my Creative or Asus sound cards).

Eesh. Looks like the same headband as the DT880 Premium Edition (currently cheaper at $169 on Amazon) and I returned those 880s partially *because* of that headband. It was cheap, flimsy, and covered in some weird astroturf-like material that collects lint and dust. The headband on the regular DT990s I have is actually way better ... better padding, more comfortable, not as flimsy, (albeit a little harder to adjust). Those standard 990s are $150 on Amazon btw. I do like that these are black. The 990s in general are very good & I’d recommend them, but I keep waiting to see a headphone Drop that is actually in any way a bargain compared to what’s available elsewhere.

argh! Not shipping to Finland ... Why though? My order for the audio technica iems went through just fine. These dt990 600ohm headphones have been on my will buy list for a while now and these look much better and I'm really interested in this updated headband and at this price it really trumps the original. Any plans to do this drop in the future so that I could get it shipped to finland?

Drop keeps teasing me, asking me if I'm still interested because I didn't finish the order... thanks.

Could I bother anyone with the measurements for the inner part of the pads? I have really big ears and it's a drag looking for high-quality headphones that do not hurt my ears and give me listening fatigue. Note: I am currently using Audio Technica ATH-AD700x with these earpads: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078HDVCN2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Thank you in advance. =)

Something isn't right. You have the 250 ohm version which are easier to drive than my 600s.

Would be great if they had a 32 ohms version. I was looking for new headphones to buy just to listen to music with on my phone and not sure if the 250ohm or 600 will be right. (Note: Not an audiophile) Seemed so good lol would have definitely bought it, but welp. Unless someone can tell me that a 250ohms version will do god on my phone.

Hey man! Thanks for the advice and suggestions offered. I really appreciate that, but I've already found a pair and yeah know all about the amplifiers and more ohms needed to drive it. I just wished they have a lower version of these because I was interested in the headphones.

You wouldnt want these for outside use anyways. Really you dont want any open back headphone for outside use/commute. With the amount of noise you can hear from outside you wont really be able to appreciate the details cans like thse provide. It’s like commuting to work in LA traffic with a lambo. Looks cool sure but it’s not really being used for what it’s meant.
