With the Q2 IEM, BGVP has taken listening versatility to new levels. Unlike nearly every TWS IEM on the market today, the Q2 can switch between true wireless and wired modes—a great choice for low-battery situations and listeners who prefer to plug in. Inside, the Q2 features two Knowles balanced armatures in each earphone: the Knowles 32873, which delivers warm bass frequencies, and the Knowles 33518, which helps articulate the mids and highs Read More

Decided to try using them in wired mode yesterday and I couldn't connect the left earpiece; it seems there is too much acrylic/shell material around the MMCX connector of the IEM. The socket is actually slightly recessed into the shell so the cable can't click into place. The right earpiece seems to barely connect as well as the IEM is not able to spin with the cable connected, it is a very tight fit. It's strange because I do have other BGVP IEMs (DM7 & DM6); I'd have thought BGVP would have gotten the 3D printing of the shells perfected at this point. Anyway, sent Drop support an email, hopefully they are able to sort it out.
Currently using the Cambridge Audio Melomania, which i enjoy. But was really hoping these were good, but the connective issues sound to big of an ordeal. Really pefer BA's to DD. Its unfortunate
Well I watched the video mentioned below with a video walk through of how to rest the IEMS. And it works perfectly.
But then I also discovered that switching between devices, say iPhone to iPad or BT enabled DAP also requires a reset. Quite frustrating actually. This feels antithetical to BT 5.0 which usually has as a hallmark being able to connect to multiple devices and switching painlessly.
At the end of 3ish hours of playing with these the SQ is good, I can’t say more than that yet. They fit my ears well, but then I have always liked the fit of BGVP IEMs and I own the DM6 and DM7.
The BT implementation is flawed, I have a few different TWS IEMs, all of the BT 5.0 ones can switch devices without a device reset, maybe at most it requires turning off and on the BT on a device.
I’ll spend more time with these and probably leave a review at some point in the next week.
Just received mine this morning.
Unremarkable unboxing experience, but like my DM6 and DM7 the shells are well made and attractive.
The charging case is a bit big compared to the Samsung Galaxy Buds case or the Apple AirPods Pro, but pocketable. Popped them in my ears with the attached ear tips and they passively isolate well, paired quickly with my iPhone and the sound quality, at first blush, of the podcast I was listening to was good.
Then I made the mistake of taking out one earbud to see if they could play independently and I lost that BT connection.
I replaced them both in the case, let them charge for 30 minutes tried again, could only get sound out of one or the other IEM. I disconnected them, repaired them, same result. I tried this multiple times without being able to get them to play simultaneously. In fact they show up as separate Bluetooth devices and I can only pair one and get sound out of one at a time.
Another member below mentioned turning them off and then on again and tapping the shell 5 times to rest the BT “profile” doesn’t work for me. Searching doesn’t result in any FAQs or troubleshooting advice and I can’t find anything helpful on YouTube.
As of now, after about 2 hours of playing with them as true wireless IEMs they seem useless.
I don’t have time to try them wired now, but given I have other BGVP IEMs that use case is less interesting.
I had thought originally I could carry these for travel and use the wired connection for on plane entertainment units. Post COVID-19 that use case seems less interesting.
I’m going to try to get these to work again in a few hours, but if I can’t get them to work in a synchronized manner then I’m going to have to return these.
AeskulapioThanks for the input and reset info. I had the same type of issues at first. After resets, only one earbud at a time would produce any sound. The right earbud even went into a sort of AM radio(hollow lo-fi) sound. They also entered into the bluetooth list as individual earbuds. I did the reset four or five times, then completely deleted the bluetooth profile restarted everything and reconnected with success. Also, they reconnected as one name in the bluetooth list. They work fine now changing from device to device. Thanks again for the info.
Hey just a tip, it you're only getting one to work, turn them off then power on, hit the touch sensor 5 times and it should clear the pairing profile and reconnect to both
