MikewannabeesFor me: Red all the way for portability, iOS and Android compatibility without an usb hub, sound quality. However the Red does not provide as much power (up to 450mw under 32ohms for the Slim) because by its original design the Red takes all of its power from the USB device you’re connecting it. The Slim cannot be powered by lower powered units such as phones and iPhones or iPads (at least not without a usb hub and ac outlet) and thus is not as portable, but will rely on more powerful usb units (PCs, MacBook Pro, etc.). The Red will be less powerful but will in my opinion is very efficient and will provide enough to be used with headphones even such as the HD6xx on either computers or portable devices. The Slim will only be able to be driven by computers but will be more powerful at doing it. Remember more powerful does not necessary equal better sound quality. I have no real life experience with the Slim, many users say it has great sound. I do have a one year real life experience with the Red and I may testify that it has spectacular sound quality while driving my HD6xx,either onnmy MacBook Pros or on my iPhone 6s or iPad Pro 9.7. However the Slim would be best if you are only using it with a computer and if you need more power for your headphones listening habits.
tessierpgI have no problems driving the Slim with my Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge or my tablet (without a usb hub or AC outlet).

Jonathan-LeAre you talking about the Centrance Slim ? It looks like a very good unit but I thought that it couldn’t run directly from an iOS unit without a hub or ac powered cck3 adaptor.
tessierpgIt drains a bits of power from my phone, but I rarely listen to music for more than 3 hours straight using headphone. I read other people's comment before I purchased the Slim, and I know somes had problem. I can only speak from my experience that I have no problem so far.
