If you’re looking for a leather watch strap, this drop gives you plenty of options to get exactly what you need. Made from 100-percent natural Horween Chromexcel leather in three different colors, each strap is designed to last a lifetime Read More
We generally try to make the 18mm and 20mm wide straps from a tad thinner leather so the chance of them fitting on smaller watches is as close to 100% as possible. 22mm-26mm will be a tad thicker leather (super slightly) and will match the watch size accordingly. Nothing should be super thick where it overpowers the watch (looks-wise) or makes the fit difficult.
We do offer solid bronze buckles via our website in a 24mm and 26mm width only. We weren't able to add this option to this sale, but we hope to on any future drops with Massdrop.
These prices are extremely low for us, as we hand craft each one in San Diego, Ca and hand saddle stitch them together in our workshop. There are no sewing machines used on almost every product we offer (minus a few) and they take a long time to make. Enjoy them and grab them while you can as these are absolutely amazing prices!
DA-LUCAOK you convinced me to join the drop. You sound like a great company that stands behind their products. I also like that you're a small business that takes pride in what you do. Thickness has been an issue for me with some watches in the past. Hopefully yours will fit my watches well.
odellusThese straps should fit that watch, in regards to the thickness of the leather. We sell many of these that end up on vintage watches with narrow lugs (width and height) and we have rarely had issues. If an issue does arise we can modify the strap you receive or make a newer thinner one for you and do an exchange as a worst case scenario.
Another great tip or technique is to flip the watch over so it is face down, take both bars off, then place the strap in position and press the bars into the back of the leather and into place. This will keep the leather from having any chance of scratching on the case/edge of the watch while you are putting it into place (because most people slide these straps on and that works just fine if the leather is thin enough or if the lug gap/height is large enough) and it allows you to fit a thicker band than what seemed possible. We hope this helps and we will be here to answer any last minute questions that anybody has.
Drop refusing to add your "lifestyle" SPAM photos, is natures way of telling you'd hit your limit. If you don't like it, take it up with Drop on the front end. Meanwhile, this area is OURS and vendors spamming us with unsolicited advertising images is unacceptable to us.
You're not a consumer you're a vendor so don't pretend to tell us what we want. We have no trouble speaking for ourselves and if we actually did want more photos of what a watch looks like on strap, we would have asked for them. Seems obvious to NO ONE ACTUALLY DID--hence the expression SPAM.
What part of unsolicited is giving you trouble?
DA-LUCAI don't mind that you are adding some pictures of the strap on different watches. It gives the buyer a chance to see some possible combinations that they might actually own and run in their rotation.
Please just don't spam/constantly upload individual pictures to the discussion area of your product. This prevents conversation and discussion about the strap from being at the top of the log.
Awesome price!
Question...
What is the difference between the Chromexcel and Shell Cordovan?
Is one softer than the other?
Of the two which stretches more?
Thanks, look forward to your response.
Mac11CXL is cowhide, shell cordovan is a membrane found between the epidermis and underlying flesh of a horse's rump. They feel actually sort of similar, but CXL will stretch and show wear much more than shell. CXL will be softer. Shell is the most durable leather in the world. Both will patina wonderfully.
MattRivNCSUThank you for the detailed response. Both leathers are amazing. Lots of our customers have multiple straps made from both leather types. We recommend trying one or a few at this price.
This is an amazing quality strap. I have about a 7.25" wrist. This is the 22mm one piece. I would highly recommend these straps. Very comfortable leather with great hardware.
I received my leather straps three weeks ago. I went with the brown in 20mm and 22mm. Both my straps are high quality and just the right amount of thickness. If it were any thicker, it would not fit my watches. I am barely able to fit it in my Speedmaster, Aqua Terra and Squale just to name a few, but they are too thick for my Bremont MB II. The straps definitely met or exceeded my expectations and will order the lighter colored on this current drop. In my opinion, the thickness is just right, not too thick and not too thin.
Just got my strap the quality feels pretty good and it looks great! but I do have one concern. My strap has a weak spot of that makes sense as shown in the pics I have included.
Overall a great strap (although don't take my word as this is my first third party strap) but Just have this one concerning spot.
ZacharyBinzWe do our best to create quality products as well as back them in case there are any issues. Let us know how we can help and we will do our best.
Seems like the Orient Bambino does indeed have a 21mm lug width..
I'm fortunate that my current watch (Bulova Accutron Gemini) and my two future watches (SARB033, SpeedMaster Pro) all have a 20mm lug width.
skabeiIt sounds like the 20mm options are perfect for you. If you ever need a custom 21mm wide nato strap we can always help you with that directly through our website as the drops will never feature that width. Enjoy the strap (or two) when you receive them.
