Way more comfortable than the stock pads which had worn out after a few years of use. They slide around a little but if you want something more breathable these are a must have.
These are very comfortable replacement pads for the M50x....very satisfied. Additionally, since I have the velour pads, it doesn't get as warm which is a nice plus that I did not anticipate. It should be noted that the sound profile changed a little; bass is more subdued. In any case, I love using this HP & Pads with my T-Mobile Revvl phone as it provides the detail and bass that I'm looking for. If you are using the M50x on a regular HP amp, it will be bright and EQ is recommended to tone down the highs. As mentioned earlier, the bass is now subdued and pleasant with my cell phone usage.
I really like the memory foam padding for long listening sessions because it keeps the headphones from developing pressure points. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because you can't get a leather pad with memory foam, only velour and while the velour is comfortable it's harder to keep clean and I feel like it gets a little warmer than leather would.
The velour ones were exactly what I was looking for. My old (original) pads had become incredibly flat and the speakers sitting directly on my ears was super uncomfortable. These new pads are far thicker, alleviating all discomfort and allowing me to enjoy my headphones for hours at a time. The headphones are much less sound isolating now, but I work in a fairly quiet office and I can just turn the music up louder. Such a coincidence that Massdrop had pads for my headphones at exactly the moment I was looking for them! You guys never disappoint.
A good replacement fit for Audio Technica ATH-M50s, pretty close to the original. However, the sound produced by the headphones is pretty terrible.
Prior to these I was trying some Brainwavz HM5 Earpads - the sound quality is dramatically better with the Brainwavz pads! However, they're quite a bit thicker which increases the clamping force of the headphones, which hurts my jaw after about an hour.
I've gone back to the Brainwavz pads because the sound quality is just so much better.
They are very comfortable, but with my closed back Sennheiser HD 280 PROs, the velour pads didn’t work at all; which was pretty disappointing because they fit like a glove. I guess I’ll just have to get some open back headphones to to test them with.
I wanted to see how these would fit. Not bad on ear can be meh. I ripped the pads of an old pair hyper x headphones and they are now over ear and more comfortable.
I was really excited about these(velour) - but they are thinner than the original pads - which was really disappointing. My ear touches the plastic headphone and is very uncomfortable. I ended up taking them off after about 20 minutes of us. Wont use them again.
Stiff and thin. I would say it's worse than the original. The ones from fleaBay or Alibaba are probably better quality than these. They ended up in the garbage can.
