there's a reason nobody ever made a hexagon watch before.

Would have bought it if it had a sapphire caseback. Very lazy of them not to. Now it might as well be a quartz.

Thank you for your polite opinion. In my opinion, since this is already a bulky watch by design yet not even a diving watch, a sapphire caseback is not only a good option, but it's even outright recommended, because it fits with the design. On the other hand, for a slim watch design, I understand and agree about the steel caseback.

Look at those lazy folks at Rolex. No display caseback. How lazy of them. Might as well all be quartz watches... Do you see how stupid your comment sounds?

DD-1 is actually pretty cool for am "out-there" design. Also has a Swiss movement so the Swiss made title is valid. The Time Companion on the other hand... looks quite terrible and has a Japanese movement.

Touch of Modern has the blue dial version for $450, albeit listed as a "store display".

I think it would look better on your arm especially the blue dial. But you would often be reminded of Marlene Dietrich singing Falling in Love Again with the final 'I can't help it.'

Do you like any watch other than a Timex? I think you could easily argue this watch is more aesthetically pleasing than an AP Royal Oak. You don't seem like a typical watch collector. Dietrich Time is one of the few microbrands (asides from dive watches) that get appreciation on Watchuseek by collectors with watches much more expensive.

Buckeye_Engineer Who said I was a Timex guy? I'm neither for or against them. As a classification, I'm partial to dive watches and tool watches in general. Ninety percent of the time my comments simply reflect my personal preferences/tastes, for or against a given watch. Unless I own the watch in question, anything I offer is just a superficial critique, up or down. Hopefully no one takes anything I say too personally, especially if I dis a watch they like, or worse own. One should always remember, I'm just some guy on the internet ;- )
