What’s the deal with this drop? Over a month ago you said you were close to a ship date. Since then, we’ve heard nothing. This was supposed to ship in June...then we were told July...now we are just a couple days away from August. I (and I think everyone else) understand the struggles due to Covid, but it would be awesome for some periodic check-ins....even if it’s just to say, “hello, we are still waiting and don’t have any updated info”....or, “hello, things still seem to be on target and we expect to ship xxxxx”. We aren’t that far off from a year when people first paid for this. That’s a long time. So the more updates (or at least check-ins), the better.

Hope you're referring to Drop and not the jags lol
I have posted an update that's been stickied higher up in this thread. Goods are currently in the US awaiting release from US Customs. As soon as they clear, we'll be readying them for shipment.
Hi everybody, we're close to the ship date, and I am in a position where I can provide some more conclusive updates. We dealt with an unprecedented global pandemic and weathered through it best we can with minimal interruption to our supply. COVID-19 impacted operations in China and HK first, and put back our dial, hands, band, and case suppliers but we still mostly kept on schedule as we had begun with a very conservative timeline for June. In fact, for a while it was looking like we could deliver exactly on schedule despite everything (including very human worry over the well-being and safety of our friends, colleagues, and partners everywhere.) Unfortunately as COVID-19 became a global situation, its impact hit some of our European suppliers as well. As of today, Sellita is still catching up to deliver our order of SW-200s to our assembler, with an estimate to ship to our factory sometime as early as next week. Hence all components other than the SW-200 are currently done and waiting to be assembled. (Actually, some of our canvas bands are also behind, but nominally) I've just approved completed production samples. The moment the movements arrive (and the latest I was told is next week) assembly can begin and watches can be shipped to us for distribution. We're still aiming for a July timeframe with all that we know right now.

(approved production samples) Some good changes happened to while we were tooling for production: When we launched this timepiece, we based it around the standard grade SW-200. I think however, the leap between standard and élaboré grade provides enough benefit to the quality and overall enjoyment of our Felix watch that it was worth the upgrade. Every preorder for the Drop Felix is therefore getting the élaboré grade SW-200. (Here's a sample of the decorated rotor)

Our in-store Felix will stock two versions, with the current Sellita élaboré grade treated as the more premium option. There were other improvements to over our original samples. As the designer of this timepiece, I had a specific vision of how the indices were to look over the curved edge of the dial. When the prototypes were made, the dialmaker had shrunk the circumference of the indices to simplify a manufacturing step, but it killed the very sculptural quality I had in mind for the dial edge. This was corrected with the production samples, so now the indices run entirely over the curved edge.

The handsets were improved, especially the luminous color. Additionally, the gray values were re-tuned to create a more muted effect closer to my original concept. Lastly, the lug finishes were a great point of discussion with the case manufacturer and have been dramatically improved from the original. I personally feel really good about where things are with the Felix. I feel we now have a much stronger timepiece than where we started. I feel less good about a delay, but strangely, I also forget the extent of not just how COVID-19 impacted our friends, loved ones, and colleagues around the globe, but also ourselves. I write this from my home where I've worked for the past three months due to shelter-in-place; long enough that I've nearly forgotten how different things are now. I imagine many of us dealing with this are in a similar fog of unrealness. But what encourages me is that despite the terrible toll this virus has taken everywhere, life goes on. The work goes on. The majority of the work is now done and we're very close to the date where we can begin shipping the Felix to your home.

Awesome news - congrats! Looking forward to that ship date update. Still hoping to use this on some hiking trails this summer, but I won’t complain if I only have it for the fall season :)

I think a lot of people would be OK with a person's name (the designer's) on the dial, but the logo is weird, and if someone asks what it means, "Drop" is such an unappealing name. And it's the name of the vendor (and an online discounter at that) versus the name of the product. It's like having eBay or Amazon on the dial.

Appears there is no shortage of enthusiasm for this little number, but I still say: "this Felix is to watches what...

...these are to vegetables" ;- )
Just a thought, but maybe if you ate more brussels sprouts and fewer loaded potatoes, you wouldn't need such a big watch. But, whatever makes you jolly, right?

Notsurewhyibother First of all, no one has ever accused me of being "jolly." Secondly, I am only an occasional potato eater and never the loaded type. My disdain for Brussels sprouts aside, I consider myself a fan and defender of all other vegetables in general, but most especially of Cocktail Onions (served cold, under gin, with a splash of vermouth).

Dim sum! Duck and chicken feet are actually quite tasty if prepared right. Think chicken wings with more dark meat flavour.

What is everybody bitching about? I get it, it isn't everybodies cup of tea.But.. If you want the size of a dinnerplate, shop elsewhere. This watch looks just like it should look, stunning (to me) and has the right proportions. It has a swiss movement and yes, it's probably cased in Asia/China.. (who cares , your Iphone is as well).. Hell I have a Huawei P30 pro cell phone and it beats all other phones. @leopadron excellent design. Complimenti ..

The design..yea.. What's not to be liked here.. Maybe, I say just maybe..(and I'm not going to point fingers) , the dial is a teeny wheeny overstuffed with numbers.. I mean, there is a lot going on on this little buddy.. But having said that.. It ticks all the boxes I want in a watch. It could easiely be the watch that not only you want but the only watch that you'll ever need.
Happy post-Labor day Wednesday everybody! Just wanted to provide everybody a quick update. Stuff's about to move! The watches are in the US and are about to be released from Customs hopefully in a matter of hours (Some final paperwork they need to review). I wanted to hold off announcing until after the goods were 100% in our warehouse, but I figured some info now is better than making you wait longer. It's a clearance release from JFK airport and then a quick truck ride over to our warehouse in New Jersey. From there we prep for shipment, and we ship to you! 3-5 days upon after arrival at our dock. I will continue to share updates as I receive them but we're down to the days. Felix Canvas Bands One thing I wanted to provide a quick update for as well: We revised the Felix canvas bands to be 22mm instead of 20mm. We noticed in QA that the 20mm canvas model bands had too much of a tendency to let the springbar peek through during wrist flexes, which looked a little unsightly. Hence I widened it to 22mm to create better coverage and impart a seamless aesthetic (I posted an image below). The leather bands which are designed to pivot firmly between the lug ends do not share this characteristic and have therefore remained 20mm. We also intend to sell more model bands individually in-store in case you want to pick up a few more. We're calling it the "Drop Seatbelt". :-) This includes all the currently available colors plus a new very limited khaki colorway (only 15 units of that one will be available for individual sale) Your Sellita SW-200 movement and the new Drop Felix SG I mentioned this in a previous post, but in case you missed my announcement, if you preordered the Felix, you've been automatically upgraded to the Sellita SW-200 elabore grade execution versus standard grade. This movement has a better finish level, and Incabloc shock protection, and additional level of rate regulation. (and in my opinion higher workmanship than the standard). This Sellita-based model will be positioned as an upgrade path when available in-store. In conjunction with this, we will also be offering a new Drop Felix standard model, based on the STP 1-11, another Swiss Made cousin of the ETA 2824-2. Further details to be announced on that in the near future. In the interim, here for questions as always. Can't wait for these to finally land on your wrist! -Leo

Well why not go for the gold? If you’re going to upgrade the movement, you as well slap the incabloc version in there. :)
That's cool, thanks.

jboogIn fairness, people purchased this nearly a year ago and have been waiting excitedly for it. It was supposed to be here months ago (I know it’s because of Covid so we all understand) and as such have probably gotten very anxious. Additionally, I think people were hoping for more status updates as well just so they could have an idea of where things are...especially since Covid has thrown everything up in the air. So, while drop has put out something cool (and from what they’ve shared, given some nice upgrades because of the wait), people asking for updates/being excited aren’t totally out of line.

299 seems a bit overpriced... would have gotten it if it is 150 or smt.
HmmmmmI unfortunately can't give you a Swiss Made Sellita SW-200 Automatic movement, AR coated double dome sapphire crystal, 100 meter water resistance, threaded crown, and Superluminova C3 luminous markers for $150.

leopadronNo one can. The nay sayers don't have the experience to realize the watch is a bargain at this price. Kudos to the designers for offering the watch at this price.
