I am an amatuer musician and competitive gamer on my freetime, I do love listening to music on this thing but it has a terrible job with 3D audio like one in a compettive video game, listening for subtle sound cues like footsteps. Also when trying to use with a Keyboard Organ it doesnt make it easy to use, I planned on just connecting my Keyboard through a line in but it doesnt work. Not knocking it because im still new to Audio at this level and it is very good but I think this is just meant for Music and thats it, videos, movies, games, and other utiltiies are iffy in my opninion.
KieranfrediI'm using the Grace SDAC Balanced, the one that is popular to pair with the AMP, I have Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro's which arent balanced but I have XLR running through the DAC to the AMP, The keyboard in question is a 2017 Korg, VOX Continental and it has XLR L and R, however I think I would need the opposite of a DAC, like an Analog to Digital converter. I used to Play my keyboard into my PC and play Spotify and Tidal with my keyboard which was great for learning and playing but nowadays I can't so I just plug my headphones into my Keyboard and call it a day. If I feel like it I use my Keyboard as a MIDI controller for some of the Arturia Softwares and play along with music.
Anyway I just noticed because when I got the AMP I was blown away but then I realized spatial audio took an odd hit, and I can now correctly pinpoint a footsteps direction in a 3D space however I can not determine its distance from myself if that makes sense, which makes it very upsetting.
nyfox12connect the keyboard direct to the ampliferXlr l and r into the inputs if it works I'd consider using a rca from the grace dac and using the keyboard over xlr. Or just unplug when you want to switch sources.
Kieranfredithats a fantastic idea, Also I don't lose quality over RCA VS XLR if im already using Single Ended Right? so like I should just do that, thanks!
