I was basing my claim on an Amazon customer who posted a direct quote from your company that wear and tear from daily use was not covered. The customer specifically mention cable fraying as the issue and was told it was not covered. Perhaps everyone at your company is not on the same page.
I’ve had mine for a little over 2 weeks now. A few problems.
The packaging. The filters are very difficult to remove from the box without ripping the box apart.
The cable. The cable is simply put, garbage. Came out of the box janked up like nobody’s business. Spent the first 2 weeks trying to un-jank these and while they are less janky than they were initially, it‘s still very janky. Oh and also the wire splitter looks like it was ripped off of some $5 earbud.
Sound. They’re alright. Bass is ok, sometimes lacking definition. Mid range is a bit recessed with mediocre vocal separation. Trebel is present with decent detail retrieval and definitely the most affected when swapping between filters.
I guess for the price they’re alright. Build quality feels pretty bad because of the god awful cable. Oh and you will hear cable noise.
I was just thinking the same thing! Massdrop does have a lot of good partners and the good ones respond to the bad as well as the good. Take a lesson from that Echobox.
Just to let you guys know.... I bought these in December for $70, don't use them that often because I have a dozen other IEM's to listen to. Anyway about a 3 weeks ago I noticed the rubber grommet on the jack came loose. I contacted customer service and got no response, waited 9 days and then sent an email to the manager of customer service...his response was " sorry , Ill look into it", and haven't heard back since. So if you purchase a product from EchoBox and have an issue you're screwed!!
The last time I needed new AFT filters was about three weeks ago, and they arrived a week later. The first time was about a year ago, and I had the filters around a month later. Again, this in no way invalidates the poor experience that you've had with them (and I'm sorry to hear that's how it has been for you). People should take both experiences in mind when considering their products, and it will always be up to the company to prove themselves to their customers, not the other way around.
goldfinger@goldfinger, did you email in to support@eboxaudio.com? If so, this seems very strange given our response time is almost unanimously within 24 hours with rare exception.
If you would please follow up with a message via our Facebook page, or our above-mentioned customer service email, I will personally look into the situation and ensure it is resolved.
Anybody have experience with these? I'm skeptical of nearly indestructible earbuds with attached cables... Seems like a waste to me, as the cable junction is the most common area of failure in my experience.
A lifetime replacement warranty would go far to support the claim of indestructibility.
Hello, I'm confused. In the product description it says a pair of Comply tips and an organizer are included with the X1, but I just received mine and neither are included.
I bought these recently, they are utter trash. My $12 panasonic earbuds have deeper bass and more lively sound.
they look nice, thats it. sounds like you are hearing from out a tin can do NOT buy
