I ordered the Black earbuds, but received the white earbuds on December 2. I immediately contacted Massdrop. Tony responded, and requested that I send photographs of the earbuds, and the packing slip.
The Packing slip indicates that Black Earbuds were shipped.
I sent the requested photographs the same day, and Tony followed up by sending me a link to a Return Authorization Form.
I completed the form, and emailed Tony to let him know that I had submitted the form.
On December 6th someone (No name in the email) from the Massdrop Helpdesk wrote to say that if they didn't hear back, they would close the request in a few business days.
I immediately emailed back to remind them that I was indeed waiting... that I had completed and submitted the form and had not heard back.
Not hearing anything back, I emailed again two days later to remind the Helpdesk that I had not heard back, and the issue was still unresolved.
Two days later I wrote again to remind the Helpdesk that I STILL have heard nothing from them, and my issue remains unresloved.
Yesterday I completed and resubmitted the Return Authorization form provided by Tony, and heard nothing back
Today I wrote to AGAIN remind them that I have not heard back
Moments ago I received an email message from Tony, telling me that he was closing my request, because he has not heard back.
This is NOT what good customer service looks like.
Bought these and after a few weeks the right earbud started to cut out. Because it was after a few weeks, I couldn't contact massdrop about my issue, I tried to contact the manufacturer. Unfortunately there was no contact info available to fix this issue. Does anyone have any ideas how I can fix this?
jackcaseySorry mate unfortunately not. The best you can do (to fix this) is get the word out to prevent other potential users from experiencing the same result.
I for one, will no longer purchase them thanks to your comment and others who have echoed similar sentiments. So while you're out some money, and I am sorry about that, they are as well.
actually, having headphones that are capable of performing at a range larger than what we can hear is beneficial. the drivers being capable of making noise at frequencies we can't hear mean they don't cut off at a point we can hear.... it's a subtle effect but it makes the audio quality better. Imagine being at a concert and the bass that you can feel. You can't hear 15 Hz, but you would be able to tell it was missing.
Some companies do independently test frequency response, but thats generally for much more expensive headphones. But every pair of headphones has a certain frequency signature, like the headphones own unique eq. For example, Beats headphones have a higher bass signature, reproducing lower frequencies at a higher dB than a flat response would look like.
beercatHi Beercat, my point was mainly about the fact that these are different to the E170 because the manufacturer Fanmusic have stated a wider frequency response. What I'm saying is that some companies claim frequency responses which aren't factual as a marketing ploy. You say you know companies that have their earphone/headphones tested independently, I never heard of that but I'll take your word for it, I doubt Fanmusic and Mannhas do though.
With regard to the other points, your right you can feel 15Hz at a concert but can your ears sense it from an 8mm driver? Mine certainly can't and I've tried 100s of different earphone and headphones with a number of test frequencies. I also disagree with you about wider frequency response being beneficial but in the same way people argue over high resolution audio there's no way of proving either case as it's subjective. My view is, as long as the frequency response is fairly linear across the whole range of human hearing frequencies, then outside of these frequencies is irrelevant as the ear can't detect them.
I've had these for about three to four months, and let me say that they are not worth the price. I can't give specific recommendations for alternatives, but I highly suggest people look elsewhere for the same money.
I received my earphones today. On the warranty card there is a QR Code that I was instructed to scan to check for authenticity and additional benefits. I've scanned it several times and with multiple QR scanners and the result is a blank page with only a header that reads "not found." Has anyone else had the same problem. It leads me to believe that these are not authentic. Anyone know what's up?
Finally I received a reply the delay with my order was the fact the vendor ran out of white/silver headsets. And there is no ETA for that colorway. I had purchased two one of each colorway. So MD gave me a few options and Im satisfied. However ten day to find this out leaves alot of room for improvement MD.
Beach_GuyLol wow ,yea this was a sorry drop with respect to deliveries. This was my first drop. The other two drops i order went better than expected. I hope the sound quality is good on these ear buds
What a lovely surprise... I ordered these hoping that they would arrive before I needed another pair. Wouldn't you know it, I woke up this morning and my two month old pair of Massdrop Sennheiser earbuds decided to die. Less than 12 hours later I received an email message from Massdrop that the Fanmusic E6 earbuds have shipped. Hooray... I'll only be listening to music using my cheap $10 Panasonic Earbuds from Walmart for five more days. Why is it that anything I buy on Massdrop doesn't last as long as the cheap crap I buy at Walmart? Maybe I should order another pair of earbuds before the Fanmusic earbuds arrive, so that I'll have another set waiting, ready to go, when my next set takes a giant dump after a few months.
