Steel looks damn good!!! They’ve ‘borrowed’ a bit of Patek design (jaeger lecoultre too), which are two very good designs to borrow from! Anyone looking to buy I’d say lock down the steel version!!
How much does buying from massdrop affect it's resale value? I mean selling we have to be Frank about where it is purchased from and provide documentation. Seeing its from a grey market source will definitely affect value

ZQowIt's not like the watch is engraved with "massdrop" on the back. At this stage, I'd venture that at least half of all watches that aren't microbrands or cheap quartz are purchased gray market. I've been buying/flipping watches for a few years now. Most of my purchases are gray market or used and it's never made a difference when I decide to sell. That being said, I sell based on what I paid for the watch minus depreciation. I don't base my asking price on MSRP because that would be dishonest and because only uninformed or profligate people pay MSRP for relatively affordable - say under $5K - watches. The only caveat is if the watch is rare or limited edition and that creates extra demand. Then you can adjust your asking price upwards based on what the market will bear.
hyperchord24"Horological gold" is outrageously expensive.
Nowadays swiss watches are considered as luxury products, people are buying brands and exclusivity.
Personally, I'd like to see manufacturers using a gold-tone alloy instead of plating which has durability issues.
PS: For people who think that gold in watches is expensive based on international price ( $1330/oz as I write ). 24k gold is too soft, the one used in watches is usually 18k, so it's actually 25% worst than what you think.
BugxyMaybe there’s another FC - slimmer and sans moon phase - on the MD horizon? they sometimes lead with the more elaborate model, then follow up with less elaborate variants. that’s my hope anyway.
"Independent and Family Owned" listed in the description is incorrect. This brand was purchased by Citizen Watch about 2 years ago. That said, I am still a fan of the company, but the description should be corrected.
Hi I’m new here and not sure how this works. Someone mentioned there is no manufacturer warranty, just wondering why? Also do watches on this site ship with a certificate of authenticity? I apologize if this has been asked before.
Rob1979Massdrop is a gray market retailer. A gray market dealer is any watch dealer which sells authentic watches but is not an "authorized dealer." Authorized dealers are the only places which can sell you a watch with manufacturer warranty (unless you can buy from the manufacturer itself).
Many reputable websites are gray market dealers of watches, including Jomashop, Overstock, and Amazon. These places sell authentic watches, but due to their status as gray market, the manufacturer will not honor their original warranties. Many gray market dealers offer their own warranties on the watches, but are usually more of a hassle to go through the warranty claim process than the manufacturer.
The upside is that you get the same watch for a hefty discount as gray market dealers sell watches at lower prices than retail. The watches are not fake at all and should come with everything that the watch normally comes with, including any certificates. However they will come either with no warranty card, an unsigned warranty card, or the gray market dealer's own warranty card.
