If you are having issues that may signal power delivery, just invest in a $20 12V-10A power supply (though it would be much better to get something higher in quality, low-noise transformers take money to design and perfect). Completely fixed my issue.
Issue: Slowly decreasing power output to speaker out and headphone out as well as tubes were no longer getting hot as they should be.
*Your tubes should be quite hot

Finally received the amp today after a month and it won’t turn on. The power light and red lights come on for a moment then it shuts off. Tried the stock tubes and special ordered ones and neither works. The power plug jiggles badly in the socket, almost unsafely. So totally DOA.

oraclealchemistThis is likely a input power related issue, if you have not sent it back already I suggest investing in a better power supply.

NEVER compromise. Buy a real tube amp or if you can't afford it today then save your money until you can. I wasted money on toys and I regret today.

Does anyone have an opinion of this versus the Little Dot MkII? Has anyone tried both?

spencerberusThis can power passive speakers while the LD MK2 is just a headphone amp and preamp. That being said, if we're just talking headphones, the Little Dot wipes the floor with this. Not worth $120 at all when a $20 used receiver from eBay works better.

This just looks awful. The machined parts don't fit together well. The photographer didn't even push the tubes all the way down, potentially creating a liability for the site when someone who doesn't know any better makes theirs look like the picture and then electrocutes themselves or burns something. And the specs tell us pretty much nothing, except that it doesn't have enough power for speakers. This is the worst drop I've seen in audio.

I do see now that the phono is MM level which is what I assumed. This unit is branded with several other names on various online markets. According to an Amazon listing it is described as "FX-Audio TUBE-P1 HIFI MCU Single Ended Classic A Desktop Power Tube Amplifier Headphone Amplifier" I assume they mean Class A rather than Classic A. If anyone can provide more info , please feel free.

The specs are easily the most underrated specs I've ever seen. This amp puts out a TRUE 2.5W, and likely more, unlike the rest of the over spec'd items everywhere on the internet.
This amp is more than enough to power most speakers at very listenable levels. Especially if you have efficient speakers and/or drivers larger than 8".

Just hopped in on the drop, looking forward to running this with my 6XX's.
Curious if this will run my Theos 8 or Maggies at low levels.

It's weird that the product photos show the tubes balanced on top of the sockets instead of being pushed in. One of the power tubes is even sitting at a slight angle. It just seems a bit sloppy from a marketing perspective.

Without a pre-amp or subwoofer out, I can't buy this ...
A cheap option to add, and one that makes all the difference in the world.

Not being an audiophile, I must ask how the amp can support 4 ohm and 8 ohm with only 6 speaker connections? Do they share the same negative connection? I know this question may make me look stupid but maybe I am! LOL

martensonjThe ground is common. So the user can select 4 or 8 ohm (red wire) depending on the speaker. But in either case, the black (negative) wire is common.
