Take your IEMs to the next level with the Linsoul HC-08 cable. Available for MMCX and 2-pin 0.78-millimeter earphones, the cable features eight different strands and 19 cores that create a natural sound with a punchy bass and midrange Read More
Thats not true. I have a dozen cables of this type/construction and they dont transmit any microphonics via their cables. They are as quiet as my fancy unobtanium super/litz cables at a much lower cost.
I recently joined the drop for the TIN HIFI P1 IEM, I've noticed some reviews saying the included cable is the weak point. Would these be a noticeable upgrade?
ecolemanThe only noticeable way that a cable could affect the sound quality is the impedance of the cable it self in certain frequencies(the resistance of the cable it self). I purchased a cable almost identical to this one on ali express and i would say that the sound is slightly different, the audio isnt as loud for example....it might just be that this cable i purchased is a cheap copy or something. As long as you get over 20 dollar cable from a credible source you shouldn't notice absolutely any difference.
ecolemanI buy upgrade cables to use my 4.4 mm balanced output from my dap. I would consider this a worthy upgrade for the P1 because they would benefit from more power. If you aren't upgrading the termination, it's still ok to get a cable just because you want to dress up your favorite iem's!
Drop hired an editor to since this was last offered. This item now appears to be described accurately, and the description is consistent with the information on the Linsoul site. Nice to see that.
zep483Maybe, but I think the price increases are due to them transitioning to more of a retailer, than a group buy facilitator. Need a whole lot more staff and real estate to run a retailer with items in stock shipping next day. They're moving more and more in this direction, they can't get away with the small cut they were taking from group buys, cause they probably could do it with a very small team. Retailer means customer service, shipping contracts, etc. I tend to let them side with the price increases because their growth is in a direction that has a sharp increase in operating costs, I'd feel differently if they were not going in that business direction, especially if they were moving to an even less involved position than group buys, and thus lowering operating costs, while increasing prices.
This is a very different website from what it was when I first started coming here, remember the year long waits for deliveries? I told a friend to order something here back in the day and I didn't really explain how it worked... it was not fun having him remind me over like 10 months daily that he was still waiting on a tracking number for something he bought the year before.
I bought the Yinyoo cables for about $16 on Amazon. Got Prime delivery. Overall very nice cables. I'm curious to anyone who has these and a digital caliper to tell me actual individual cable thickness. The "19" core thing sound like snake oil. The Yinyoo is 8 cables but they call them 8 core. I doubt it makes an measurable difference

GenDouglasMacArthurMaybe it's suppose to be 8 "cores" with 19 "strands" per core.
GenDouglasMacArthurI also have the Yinyoo cable, and while it also claims to be silver plated (which I doubt), it works well with my Campfire Orion's. If cables have a major influence on the sound signature of an IEM, my ears are not capable of detecting it.
Could Linsoul, or someone who owns this cable measure its resistance? As that's pretty much the only technical characteristic of a cable that can have any effect on sound (due to channel imbalance or the headphones seeing a higher impedance source+cable combo).
Here's how to measure resistance:
A digital multimeter will do. Just set it to ohms, put one probe on the tip of the 3.5mm jack and the other on the positive pin of the left wire (channel) at the IEM end, record the reading. Then place one probe on the lowest section of the jack (ground), and the other on the other pin at the IEM end and record the reading. Do the same for the right wire (channel) - from the middle section of the jack to the positive pin, and the lowest section of the jack (ground) to the other pin. Thanks
g_t_jFor sure, I just placed an order for 2 more. the 2.5mm I need and a 4.4mm for when I finally get an XLR to 4.4 adapter, I hate 2.5mm it's so tiny I feel like it's gonna snap, but it's the only XLR adapter I have at the moment.
Silver plated? Very, very unlikely at this price (or full price for that matter). Something else to ask yourself before you hit the BUY button...if you were silver plating the wire to give this product the aura of a "premium' cable...would you not allow the silver plating to be clearly visible on the finish product? The Linsoul website makes no mention of silver plating that I can see. Another example of excellent copy editing by the Drop team.
This cable is great... I got a 2.5mm balanced. It doesnt have rubber around the ear area which may bother some, but not me. I bought a cable for the tfz no.3 and it drastically improves performance, even when converted back to SE'd. I am going to have to buy a SE'd version as well on the next drop. I'm not usually a cable believer, but in this case it is undeniable. Either this is a great cable or the stock cable on the tfz no.3 isn't doing it any favors. The Tripowin 2.5mm on my T3 didn't make any difference to my ears from stock.
zep483I got single ended, so I'm ordering another in balanced, I can't overstate how much I like this cable, it's so soft, and has absolutely no memory shape to it, as in it doesn't try to default to any curving or straightness and fight against you. No stiffness whatsoever.
tooitchyyeah i got a balanced 2.5 mm one in 2 pin... I'm highly considering getting another one in MMCX... I have the tripowin cable as well, but prefer this one overall.
KarnatThat's....bizarre. From the drop too? I wonder if the 2 pin have them and the mmcx don't, I can't find any pictures confirmed to be the 2 pin, though I feel like there were pictures of it in the previous drop. Oh well, just super weird then. So, to op, I guess it depends what connector you have? Pictures show mmcx, and without the around ear mold loops, but apparently the 2pin does have the ear mold loops.
