So you shot yourself in the foot once to save the other :)
I do agree though, despite some confusion pertaining to the description of its wire stands & cores
EDIT - IPX Connector Defective/Poor Quality - Damaged a pair of IEMs and I am not the only buyer whose customs have been damaged - Do Not Buythe IPX/T2 version - I'm just happy they are offering an IPX connector. Bought a UE18+ and didn't want to spring $300 for a balanced cable. $70 bucks? I'm on board. If it is anything like the quality of the EST cable - it is worth the money. Just have to wait until the end of January.
Looks like DROP is now pretty much just a provider of headphones, earbuds, DACs, and assorted audio bits and pieces. Not much here for me anymore. No watches, no fountain pens, no knives; nothing even for the serious audiophile. It's been fun for a few years, but now time for me to unsubscribe. Cheers.
Ah, I am horrible at reading email for anything beyond bills or purchases so missed that.
Bummer, I love the audio category but I have spent waaaay too much on waaay too many headphones and earphones and dacs that it's silly and people think I am juts. Most sane individuals just aren't frequent purchasers of any single category which is why I miss the variety, it kept me curious but sadly that is no longer the case.
Maybe someone can relaunch the original concept again.
JakobThat would be good. I would definitely be in if they had watches, fountain pens, knives etc. I really liked the original massdrop concept. I bought quite a few items up until a couple of years ago.
I run my earphones balanced so replacing the cable is the first thing I do with new earphones. I find that I get better sound out of my DAP's with balanced. Cable quality can also really affect the sound of the earphones. So yes, for me anyway, a quality cable is a must.
Nymph Cable consists of 8 strands of 22awg 5N OCC single crystal copper, plated with silver (12 cores) and Coating Graphene (7 cores), 7 wires per core, welded and braided in accordance with the directionality..
This does not make any sense. A strand is a single wire and a core is made up of strands. 7 wires per core also doesn't make any sense if it's 22awg cores, that number would be higher or the cable would be very stiff. Is it 8 22awg cores, each with 19 wires, 12 silver plated and 7 graphene plated?
"A quality cable is the next step to finding the perfect sound on your IEM." Nah, for me it's tips second, cables third- provided the source is already good enough. Otherwise cables would be fourth :p
These are great-sounding cables. As every audiophile knows, cables do offer immediately apparent audible improvement. There’s even a mathematical equation you can punch in… X in-ear monitor plus Y cable equals Z higher-priced and more technically proficient IEM. Often it makes more sense to buy a cheap IEM and an expensive cable, as that combo will get you to the sound of the more expensive IEM for less cash. For example, pairing this cable with my Shure SE215 gives me the exact same sound as a Vision Ears VE8, saving me some $2000. Actually, the sound may be even better. With this cable you can expect the bass to deepen considerably, both in width and depth, as well as extension, with notes of clove, lavender, and licorice. The highs are very floral and a little citrusy on the nose, dissolving into warm mids with a wet chalk mouthfeel, as well as strong coriander, thyme, and barnacle honey. I smell purple. These cables definitely change the sound for the better, and I am not just having a stroke. Pygmy piano muffin grabbers. Folding flashlight carpet?
starterBro this is PERFECT 😂😂 seriously I was on the verge of a shif-eating grin the entire time I read this ha! This deserves to be in the GOAT discussions
Wish there was a 90 degree termination option. I have similar one for my DAP and it adds a horrible point of damage or stress as the connector sticks out and can snag on anything. All it takes is a bad angle or force and the plug can snap or damage the 3.5mm jack on my DAP. Got a 90 degree adapter and its great but I can notice a minor quality drop as the signal needs to go from DAP to Adapter to IEM.
Buy em because they are pretty. Unless you have "golden ears" ..which I sadly do not, you wont notice the difference between these and a coat hanger's wires...but..These are VERY pretty. ....Id get em if I was not gonan try to get the Senn 800 's drop is about to make.
