There is nothing I love more than purchasing something online and waiting 5 months for the product to arrive! For an $89 price point, MASSDROP and NOBLE: (1) layout the money, (2) produce the product, (3) offer the product to the community, (4) and ship in less than 1 month! If the product is great, people will buy it. This is not kickstarter!
tcl8to7Noble does that already. Just go to the website and purchase direct, prices will be significantly higher. 😁

Why do I have the feeling that this shape will slide out of the ear faster than a greasy finger. Also I hope you're aware that there's a certain site which sells multidriver/hybrid Chinese made IEMs which sound pretty amazing for $15 - $60+, which means these with their common shape and a single dynamic driver have to sound pretty phenomenal for $89.

Long-ish Road, Short-ish Story
Back in 2014, after the Axpona Audio show in Chicago, Brannan of Noble & Will from Massdrop decided to continue chatting about potential projects and visit one of Will’s friends across town. By the end of that night they had agreed on an accessible, $99.99 single driver in-ear monitor product collaboration.
(No Big Deal? Keep in mind that affordable, everyday carry-around IEMs aren’t the usual Noble Audio product segment. Before the first Massdrop/Noble Collab in 2016, Noble IEMs were all $400 to $1850.)
Okay, back to the story…
After developing this original $99.99 product idea to prototypes and even packaging in 2014, the overall quality just wasn’t there by either party’s standards and the mutual milestone had to wait.
Otherwise, this would have been the very first Massdrop Collaboration.
In the Summer of 2016, Noble had another project idea that got things going again. (Thanks, Dr. John, for tuning some more prototypes and to Brannan for bringing them up to SF.)
This second attempt led to the Massdrop x Noble X, a $249.99, 2-driver balanced armature IEM that became a fast favorite and has made a couple thousand new Noble fans.
The next step in our progression was the successful re-boot of the flagship Kaiser 10 at $899.99. The first run of 500 pairs sold out in just a few days.
And…we have now come full-circle to that original vision back in Chicago. The Luxe are about to treat a whole new audience with Noble sound & quality.
Sound “The Massdrop x Noble Luxe has a single dynamic driver known for good timbre & coherence…” Timbre: The character or quality of a musical sound or voice as distinct from its pitch and intensity. This term is used at times to encompass characteristics such as leading edge of notes or transients, weight, and decay. Some audiophiles prefer the sound of electrodynamic drivers to other types of drivers (planar, balanced armature). Coherence: This term refers to the quality of forming a unified, whole sound. If a multiple driver design is executed poorly, the bass, mids, and treble can sound like separate areas with different qualities which can distract from the overall presentation. Though a single driver can have peaks and dips in frequency response, they generally have the same qualities of sound (timbre) throughout their range. Bottom Line: The better the single driver, the better the qualities will be throughout their range, and the range will be larger from bass to treble. The first prototypes back in 2014 didn’t have a very ergonomic cable, a clean microphone, nor as enjoyable a sound signature. Today’s prototype is dynamic and clear. Since the Luxe are made for more portable on-the-go Noble listening (and transportation has a lot of low frequency noise), they have some added kick down low. We’ll get some graphs and impressions of the prototypes going this week. They’re ready.

(1) Need a photo of the carrying case;
(2) Are the volume controls compatible with iPhone only or Android only? This is pretty darn important to know;
(3) What's the warranty on these? I'm no IEM audiophile, so ~$100 for something that will likely be subjected to the elements and the roughness of travel is kind of a big outlay.

Why is the warranty only 1 year here when the standard Noble warranty is 2 years?

"Noble and its first-ever product under $100"
Generally I would deem a company more ethical by foraying into the territory of "value" products, before throwing money into a no-name company selling IEMs for thousands of dollars.
However, that isn't the case. Noble's Wizard has proven that he is competent at designing IEMs , or at the very least a competent marketer and businessman.
That said, I feel the build quality of this IEM is abysmal. For 90 dollars you get a thin rubberized wire, chi-fi microphones in the signal path and a questionable TRRS jack as evidenced by it coming apart in another person's post below.
What gives with the components aside from the driver costing a maximum of 2 USD, assuming these are made in China. If they aren't there are Chinese parts, 100 percent as I see the OEM stuff used in it.
This is an example of using the brand-name labeling of Noble's name to sell IEMs highly inflated to the point it's no longer capitalism, but capitalist greed. There's zero reason these should be anywhere over the realm of 30 dollars and that's pushing it.
The real question the consumer has to ask themselves in 2019, is why are these companies scared of making a good product for a good price?
90 dollars is a lot of money, for a lot of people. For 90 dollars you should get a luxurious return in sound quality on investment, same with BUILD quality, in the IEM world. Don't support hyper-inflated money-grabs like these. These should have better sound, better build w/ removable cables at an equally better price.
Just seeing an IEM sold of this caliber by a company selling IEMs for several hundred, and thousands of dollars raises huge red flags regarding the company's ethics.
Even if they resolved these issues I feel it would be in moral conflict of the greater good to support a company like this.

Basically, if the manufacturer doesn't give a warranty after 30 days you're out of luck. Don't blame Massdrop, blame the manufacturer.
I don't think this specific item has a warranty.
Just glue the cheap cover back on like it was originally.

HedgeporkerI can tell by looking at the thin, cheap rubberized wire and that plastic or cheap aluminum shell that that would happen to someone's. And for 90 dollars, absolute yikes. What a noble ripoff.

Just received them and put them in my ears!
I LOVE them. Amazing sound - right up my alley. Lovely bass texture, better than expected, just on the verge of becoming loose - nailing it there. So elevated bass, elevated treble - wonderful sound to my ears, very detailed.
NOTE: this is only my first 5 minutes review. But so far I am VERY happy with my purchase. These are true Noble in ears. For an amazing price.
EDIT: after a few hours - these grew on me. Lovely sound - certainly worth their money!

Mic worked great on a few conference calls I made with them.
However: cable is quite microphonic and to use the mic properly it's better to wear the cable down (not over the ears which I usually prefer). So that's a bit of an issue if you are moving around a lot.
Not an issue while stationary...but voice quality was top according to the people on the call.
