This looks sharp. I wonder about all the stitching though as you can't fit much down in between some of those stitches. Looks cool though. I'm sure these are sewn through. Can someone please enlighten me as to why they and others are using a 20d fabric on the lining of jackets vs having this heavier, sturdier fabric on the outside? 20d also doesn't breath as well so having it as an inner fabric is puzzling to me.

AntneeWear and tear on the inner fabric is actually greater than the outer shell fabric...every time you put it on or take it off, stretch your arms, etc, you're abrading those fine denier yarns. It's pretty common for jackets to use a slightly heavier fabric choice for liners. That said, we're still talking 20d. Without knowing specifics about the fabric you can't say that "20d" is any more or less breathable than another 20d or 10d fabric choice, but if less breathable that does help some to retain warmth a little longer and it's still plenty able to pass moisture unless it's coated or just an extra dense weave pattern/thread count. Pullover is smart for a touch of extra warmth but that "fashion baffling" and what appear to be very loose wrist cuffs both help to take away from those gains, imho. Yes the seams are sewn through...don't see box baffling until you get into some very thick down parkas.

I have this jacket, got it on an Outdoor Research black friday special. I packed it as an emergency jacket, on a trip to the California coast and ended up needing it. With just a t-shirt underneath it kept me just right at not shivering at night at about 40 degrees. I did get hot during the day in the low 50s. I'm 5'8" and 180lbs (kinda chunky, im about 15lbs over my in shape weight) , it fits snug, but I still have a few inches of room, more than some of OR's technical jackets. I have 32" sleeves in dress shirts and I bet these are 34". It packs pretty small, like a half loaf of bread. Everyone asks where I got it from and likes it. I think at this price it's a good deal. I paid $185 for it on black friday sale.

Seems a little counter intuitive to have a pull over with a half front and a half size zip, why not just add a full front zip?

djprI have a down anorak with side zips from Brooks range mountaineering and the side zips are very effective vents and also I've read work with climbing harnesses. The continuous insulated front pocket is probably the best feature you can have on a jacket because if your hands get cold you can keep them together in the pocket

Logan96This one only seems to have a zip on one side though, I could see it being much more useful if it was zippered on both sides. That's something I hadn't though about in terms of the front pocket.

Women! The women’s version is now 123.00 on REI
Trying to get a sense on sizing on this pullover. I'm right between M and L in most brands (tending towards L - 5'10" 175 lbd) but have two OR wool hoodies where the Med fits like a Large (and the large is huge on me). If this pullover is in line with past OR sizing then a medium might work, but the last thing I want is a pullover that's too snug when taking on or off (it's the claustrophobe in me).

OneThousandAnswersI'm 6'2" and most larges fit me perfectly at 195 with a slim athletic build. The only thing i notice is that it's tight in the shoulders when i'm putting it on and taking it off. If i open the side vent and unzip the half zip before putting it on this alleviates the tightness in the shoulders. Once it is on it fits perfectly.

Specs state a left-side zip but the photos show it on the right-hand side. Can anybody confirm which is correct?

"Washed Peacock"?!? Who comes up with these color names? Name aside, this thing looks great. I love anorak pockets.

I think I'm going to have to sell a few jackets to make room for this on the next drop. I looked because I thought it looks nicer for a street jacket than my other down jackets and I love anoraks but it's also only 9.2 oz. That's light enough to go in the ultralight category in my book. The features are incredible for the weight and with a 20d lining I wonder if the weight is accurate.
