With these Bluetooth cables from PlusSound, you can turn any IEM or headphone with removable cables into a Bluetooth device. They can drive IEMs with two-pin and MMCX connections (like the Massdrop x Noble X and Massdrop x NuForce EDC, respectively), along with full-size headphones like the Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX and the Massdrop x HIFIMAN HE4XX planar magnetics Read More
Very interested in the 2-pins that will hopefully work with the TFZ Exclusive 5's that I ordered. Just a question, how much of a difference does the cable material make? Also for the cable type is it mostly just the looks that are different?
Excellent comment DemTunesDoe! Yes, the topic is quite debatable and usually, folks are firmly entrenched in one camp or the other and if anyone says different, they're wrong. It all comes down to personal experience, as you succinctly put it. Most of the time, I cannot hear a difference, but a few times I have. Was it better? I cannot really say, but the sound was indeed different. I do know I do not need to obsess over cables other than to get better physical qualities.
funambulisticMy problem is that the topic is debated on the level of "can hear it" and "can't hear it", and not the actual physical differences in the signal. I have yet to hear a cogent argument based on sound engineering or physics that claims there is a difference. Note that DACs/Amps have actual tests for determining their quality, and their characteristics are measurable via spectrum analyzers, whereas you can't find that information for cables...
Just a heads up to everyone - the connector for IEMs is gigantic (where the cable plugs into each monitor, the black part is HUGE). It was so big that it ruined my seal (it pushes against my head so much on the top so the Bottom half pops out a bit). I had To send mine back and ask they alter it to have a smaller connector. May want to request this in your comments when you order.
That's worrying. @Ericx242 noted a similar complaint about the comfort of the connectors, although with non custom IEMs. I contacted @PLUSSOUND about it and my model of CIEMs (64Audio A12).
kamuiYeah as I said before, I contacted them and Told them I was really upset since this was nearly $200! i shipped it back and hey said they would refit it with a smaller connector.
mgrzadzielThat's strange, it systeem free shipping usa. But at the bottom it says
Shipping:
Domestic orders will be shipped by the vendor and international orders will be shipped by Massdrop. So do you mean Why only free shipping usa or only shipping with in the usa?
I've been looking for something like this for some time now to use with my Shure SE215's, but just noticed that they are selling their own cable. Would the PlusSound cable be any better than purchasing the one from Shure? It's only a $20 difference so I'm considering if it would be worth it for improved quality. Thoughts?
nomadsixI have the Shure BT cable, and use it with the SE846. Ive got no major complaints with it. Only thing I’m not too fond of is the physical design. There’s too much cable length on the left side, and not enough on the right. Kinda nit picky, but for the price I would prefer it be perfect. The extra cable looks silly, and since the battery can’t be moved for obvious reasons, you’re stuck with it like that.
if I were looking for a BT cable, I would give this a shot over the Shure, hell, I might buy this anyway tbh. The Westone cable is nice as well.

killerstephenThese are the same. The module is too far up on the right side. Might work for cans but is kind of annoying with iems.
