Guessing this is 2 hand deploy? Wonder if it can be thumb or finger flickable?

ALLCAPSYour right! Negative on the thumb and finger.
This looks like a Medford that isn’t twice as thick (or more) as it needs to be. Also it’s less than $400. Well done Real Steel!
Dun dun DUUUUUUUUN!

Hi, Will the pivot have bearings or washers? And the what will be the finish of titanium handles? Stonewashed or beadblasted? Blade thickness? Will the handles be skeletonized? Titanium clip?
(Edited)
Veritas111It should be the same as the regular version, bronze washers and 3mm blade thickness.

Given the regular one uses G10 and 14c28 Sandvik steel for around $50, going titanium or marbled CF and titanium for double the price doesn't seem too bad. It seems a better deal than the MAP Spyderco and WE Knife offerings that they've been selling without even getting a real "exclusive" beyond a different ano.

Did your want to go 154cm for an "exclusive"? I'll take s35vn over that any day, thank you very much. Real Steel is a budget manufacturer, and I'd consider this a step up.

How is the blade deployed on this? I see no thumb stud or flipper, am I missing something? That marbled CF sure does look sweet though!

Not a bad price for what you get. I'll keep mine - I don't mind hard detent, especially when I go to places where people equate flipper with switchblade or gravity knife and go ape. Actually, that's one of the reasons I went into this - it's nice to have a simple, clean looking knife that is under stated and isn't a slipjoint but which doesn't scare people because it opens fast.

Sorry I never responded. I somehow missed your post. $85 shipped if you're still interested. It has been sitting all packed up, ready to go ever since I photographed it.

Anyone consider "swap[ping] titanium for G10" to be an upgrade? 'Cause I sure don't. But I'm also very tolerant of heavy knives, so maybe I'm in the minority? Or at least in a majority that's not as ubiquitous as I think? G10 is fine; sometimes it's done really well, but excepting zirconium, which is outlandishly expensive to use for the whole body of a knife (though I have seen a custom or two that did it), I consider titanium to be the ideal, and therefore premier material for a knife handle and/or liner. And after that, I prefer a single-piece, aluminum build; like, say, the one Strider I own, or my Microtechs OTFs...and folders, now that I think of it. The only time I view G10 as an improvement is when it's used for scales on a stainless steel liner, as those can and should be quite thin; G10 beats the heck out of, for example, FRN on a Spyderco stainless frame. But Spyderco has their own very distinct style and design strategies, and I don't think they fit very well into comparisons with many other companies (also, as far as I can tell from their prices, Spyderco believes G10 is a rare material, and titanium and platinum are the same metal). So am I the only one who read the description and thought "G10 an upgrade over titanium--what the hell?"

HatuletohPretty sure it's just written incorrectly. It should have said "the handle on this model swaps G10 for titanium." Judging by the fact that neither available versions appear to have G10 handles, and the choices are "titanium" and "carbon fiber".

Hatuletoh@ecoleman and @Cogsworth already clarified their bad wording, but I personally don't like heavy knives. I wear the same knife from long pants to golf shorts or gym shorts up until the time I go to sleep. Anything heavy won't feel comfortable. But that's just my use case and it doesn't help that I can't carry a knife more than 3" to work too.

It has been days now and still no answer on the finish on the blade and handle. I emailed MD directly with this question in addition to asking it here. I had a question on another item because it says in the ad it is available in black but when you go to buy it black is not listed as a choice. I emailed MD and got an email in reply that says they added the black option and when I went to order it was not there. So even when they answer a question and are aware they still can't get it right. They have about the most deplorable customer service I have ever experienced. That is far more an issue than how you open this knife, obviously you use the groove to open it.

For me this is a nice offering and I am in on the drop. Lately, the selections on Massdrop have not been enough to pull me in. This knife has a very nice price for the specs. Enough for me to gamble, even though, of course, Massdrop leaves us all hanging again with a incomplete listing. So it is a bit of a crap shoot. I like a variety in my collection (I love my Ferrum Forges but lets keep it moving.) This will be my first of this maker. Just have to hope that opening the blade (despite what its finish may be) will be a good experience for us.

The Specs simply say stonewash but nothing in the pictures looks like stonewash, blade or handle. I really would like to know because I prefer stonewash way over bead blasted because it shows little in wear. I do not understand why MD always leaves these important issues unanswered. They have been selling knives for awhile now so they should be well up the knife learning curve. It is very frustrating to me when the customer has to beg for major information from a merchant. I am finding the copy on these ads getting increasingly more poorly written and it should be the opposite over time. MD sometimes has some interesting products but they often do themselves no favors in describing it. I am going through this very issue on a watch storage box they have listed where they say they have it in black and then when you go to buy it it is not an option. Why do they talk about it and then don't have it. Get with it MD!

It shipped three days early (May 10 vs May 13)? Not complaining...
