I, too, was anticipating (and ready to pay) a lower price given the production that Massdrop went through with the teaser email and the fact that I purchased new HD650's from Amazon last year for about $16 more, total, than the out the door price here. It's not a bad price, and it looks like the drop was a success. I just think the teaser email set unrealistic expectations. I can't speak for others, but I would prefer not to receive those emails in the future. The standard email announcing new items is sufficient for me.
