A few things before I begin. I've had the natural abalone George for over 4 months, I'm a college student with classes 5 days a week and this pen has quite literally been the only pen I've used since I got it. I switch between Blue Velvet and Apache Sunset ink although I'm not so in tune with fountain pens to notice any material writing difference between inks. I've also swapped the nib for a Goulet #6 EF nib so I can't speak to the stock nibs. Getting the pen, presentation is nice enough to mention yet not over-the-top luxurious. The abalone shell I got was nice and dynamic, even got a few spots of orange in it in certain lights which is nice as its usually a blue and green. After 4 months of daily use you can tell it's not BNIB but there's no sign of unusually rapid wear. Early on, the cap would sometimes get hung up on maybe a burr or something. This has since gone away with use and the threads are smooth and secure (although I'd always love to see higher tolerances). Although you can see the seams of the abalone under the resin, it all flows together all the way around. After much inspection I still cannot tell where the start/finish of the abalone wrap is! I only have two gripes. The biggest one is the finish on the grip section has developed very, very fine pitting. It can't be felt under the pad of my finger but is noticeable under a fingernail. From a distance it just looks (maybe) dirty but upon closer inspection the pits are visible. The grip section is the only place on the entire pen to get this, all other exposed metal has remained smooth and shiny. Only other gripe is that ink got in between the seals of the converter which can't be disassembled. Overall I'd give the pen a 4.8/5 stars but I'll round up to 5. Edit: grammar
